Diabetes doesn't go away but you can manage it without medication or insulin by eating low GI food.

p.s. you can reduce the digestibility of food somewhat by taking fiber with it so you blood sugar doesn't spike as much.

you can manage diabetes to the point you don't need medication to stay alive but your body is pretty much irreparable damaged to the point you'd never be able to go back to eating like you did for the 20 years beforehahd without just slipping back into life threatening symptoms

          Yeah this
This is something that freaked me out when I realised this
The idea that somehow even if you tried your best you will never stop being diabetic even if you can become healthy again is terrifying
It sucks because for some reason I became convinced I had diabetes but was too afraid to go to a doctor
I started eating less and exercised more and ended up losing 10 kg
Got a negative testresult and now I've gained about 15 kg

I ahd a similar experience where I was convinced my fatigue was caused by blood sugar so I tested my blood sugar like 5 times a day for a month and it was mostly completely normal except for rare incidents where it stayed above 100 for a couple hours after eating. I'm like 135 pounds /61 kg but was neurotic about it even after blood results from the doctor and him reassuring me I didn't have diabetes.

Type 2 can be reversed with a carbohydrate elimination diet and exercise.
Pancreatic beta cells CAN regenerate, but most of Type-2 comes from insulin resistance in cells which can EASILY be reversed (within a week).

Start exercising regularly and eat less carbs and calories overall. Take your metformin and hopefully if you change some habits that’s all you’ll have to take. insulin management is not fun

I've been exercising regularly (almost every day) for about 6 years now. I tried metformin, it made me feel funny, so they are putting me on something else.
I just was looking for some nice diabeetus-friendly recipes, but everyone is just being a pain in the ass.

you just have to be more conscious about carbs, no recipe is completely off limits but you have to think about it is all. brassicas are a popular option for fulfilling low carb ingredients since they’re more fulfilling (roast some broccoli or brussels sprouts, or cook a bunch of kale or cabbage in a pan with some bacon instead of potatoes or rice). My dad had some success with pork rinds to quell his chip habit, but you don’t need to go full keto.

Kale and water to fill up your belly so you feel full and not have the room for more. Avoid sugary drinks. Listen to dance music that makes you wiggle along as you listen. Try and walk everywhere. Do some jumping jacks in the morning to get your blood pumping. Replace comfort eating with masturbation. Or chew on a celery while listening to ASMR. Chew more slowly to feel full

Anon your body is having problem metabolizing sugar; if you're in the early stages then limit carbs as much as you can and only eat the most complex carbs you can imagine, that way it takes longer for your body to break down, and you stay fuller longer because of the high fiber content. So vegetables, like a motherfucker. Check where your vegetables sit on the glycemic chart and aim for the ones that are on the low end...for example bread might as well be sugar, as well as some fruits. Cruciferous veggies are your best bet. Also stay away from saturated fats since diabetes itself already shreds away at your arteries and then your body will stuff lipids in those areas. So salt is also a concern because when you retain water, your blood pressure goes up, and that harms your arteries in a similar fashion.

In other words, a whole foods, unprocessed limited protein diet would be your best bet. But do your research because there's a lot of stuff out there that may seem healthy and ARE, but not to a diabetic. Stay away from potatoes....and me personally I would even cut the fruits out completely. Just get your carbs from vegetables and a very moderate amount of good fats like Omega3s. Count your calories and start exercising any way that you can. Remember this is no time to play around with fad diets or "bro science." Follow what actual doctors say.

No the drug dealers will tell you to just eat whatever you want and take insulin (which is a viable option) so you can buy the insulin, but everything I just stated are simply facts.

Hogwash. Google glycemic load. Then talk. Your post is ill-informed. It doesn't help the OP nor does it help you (I'm guessing). There's absolutely nothing wrong with carbs or fruit, once you look at glycemic load.

      >Anon your body is having problem metabolizing sugar
Shut up homosexual. Type 2 diabetes is explicitly resistance to the effects of insulin. This leads to a downward spiral of your pancreas producing more and more until eventually it reaches its limit, and that's when your blood sugars start going all fucky, leading to oxidation of random parts of your body and eventual failure. This resistance is why dumbfuck doctors prescribe EVEN MORE insulin for T2 patients, which is the literal worst possible thing they could do as it'll just make the resistance worse but hey at least we sold some drugs to someone.

The cure is to make yourself sensitive to insulin again. Remember that carbohydrates trigger the highest insulin response so you should keep them as low as you can, plus get some exercise as that's also known to increase insulin sensitivity.

No pharmaceutical company will acknowledge a treatment that doesn't make them money, but this knowledge is very well established.
