My cucumber salad doesn't have meat in it, but it is a good accompaniment for any grilled or roasted meats
    >finely diced cucumbers (ideally Persian or English, but standard cucumbers will work if you skin and deseed them), roma tomatoes, red onion, and optionally jalapenos
    >chopped parsley, mint and/or cilantro
    >lemon juice, olive oil, salt to taste

Oh you think thats your cucumber salad? You think you made up that salad? Really homosexual?

No, it's basically a Shirazi salad, but most people in my area aren't familiar with that. Plus I sometimes add avocado, roasted corn, other non traditional ingredients

the concept of a salad is very broad, a simple chicken salad with cucumber and onion is my favorite, but if you mean leafy salad, seafood is a great meat to add, salmon or even some crab, light italian, capers or green olives if you like that sort of thing

If you mean the mayo sort of chicken salad, pickled cucumbers are pretty good in that, plus onion and as you mentioned celery.

hell yeah, all it needs is some salt and pepper, but you can get fancy with it too, such a perfect food

I like to add a spicy element as well, sometimes fresh jalapenos or serranos, sometimes pickled, sometimes just some dried cayenne or chili flake. Plus of course lemon/lime juice, or vinegar if I don't have fresh citrus on hand, gotta have some acidity in there.

yeah i wanted to try them for a while as well. but similarly as with salad it kind of intimidates me with how many because of how many ingredients you have to prepare separately. the meat, guac, salsa, other veggies

          bro what

Have you only eaten lentils and air up until now? Are you in an extreme religious cult that forbids culinary joy? What have you been living for all this time? I bet you don’t know what women look like underneath their clothes either

i'm european and they're not really popular. i've only seen them sold at cinemas. also

i grew up in a poor white trash family and i mean poor poor as we often got our electricity cut off and had to use fricking candles instead. most meals i had were some slop from a bag with discounted meat, mostly my mums famous spaghetti aka tomato sauce from a packet and cheapest often so past date it actually stank. i'm 19 and honest to had never even been at a restaurant and had a chance to order a salad and we rarely had any fresh veggies. but now not to brag i'm doing a bit better at life and started cooking actual meals but still never done a salad yet

I've always eaten Greek and Caesar salads growing up but when I got older I had to substitute out ingredients depending on price and season. then I started combining the two.

    >Ghetto Greek Caesar
    >chop cucumber and tomato
    >fry diced bacon
    >anchovies
    >toast a slice of bread and tear it up with your fingers
    >mix that all up in a bowl
    >drizzle olive oil
    >mix a little Dijon and vinegar for a sauce in a cup and pour it in
    >crumble feta cheese on top.

only takes a few minutes. it's a quick high calories low carb breakfast for me in our mild winters.
