definitely not true. when i eat fat-heavy stuff like dairy and meat i'm actually hungry more often. i think you're confusing a bloated stomach feeling with satiety. satiety is what stops hunger. for example, watermelon is satiating. eat half of a watermelon in the morning and you won't feel like eating for the whole day until night.

Not defending keto here by any means, but the data shows anywhere from 90-95% of people regain the weight they lose from diet and exercise within a few years. If the proposed solution has a longterm failure rate of 90% or more, shouldn't we be able to admit the problem is a bit more complicated? Obesity is a problem today in ways it never was before.
Again to be abundantly clear, I'm not saying keto is the solution either, but even if we say "well 90% of people clearly don't have the willpower" (which I don't agree with) - then why is our first suggestion to just use willpower to diet and exercise when we know it fails?
I think part of the issue for that failure is that people who diet see it as a temporary adjustment rather than a permanent lifestyle change. As soon as they've met their goal, I feel they see it as a reason to stop eating they way they have been when the reality is that same diet they're ditching is how they should be eating. If people who lost a bunch of weight want to eat more than the diet that got them to their goal allows, then they should hit the gym harder.

it's simple. eating less and moving more worked, but then they stopped when they reached their goal. because they didn't change their fundamental lifestyle/habits and probably lost weight using an unsustainable fad diet, they went right back to their old habits. they thought of it as an temporary measure
