KFC, Pizza Hut, Starbucks, and McDonald's have all seen declines in same store sales in the first quarter of 2024. With fast food prices up 5% from the same period last year, customers have started changing their eating habits as grocery prices have risen a more modest 1.4%.
KFC is responding by trying out a simpler menu while McDonald's has pledged to introduce more Value Menu items. Will it be enough to win back consumers fed up with high fast food prices?
YUM! Brands, parent of KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell says they believe most of the lost customers in their KFC and Pizza Hut brands have switched to their Taco Bell brand, which is where the company earns 75% of its domestic income. There are no plans to make more changes to Taco Bell's menu or introduce new value items at the chain.
Not all chains have seen a decline in sales. Chipotle, Popeye's, and Wingstop have all seen same store increases during the first quarter of 2024.

McDonald's sales were actually up by 1.9% but that was lower than Wall Street expectations and far lower than the typical 4% increase the company sees during the time period. Outside of the US, sales did fall, which is attributed to McDonald's support for Israel harming sales in the Middle East and Asia.

Why the frick does a burger peddler need to support Israel or BLM or Conservatives anyways? Just focus on selling food and stay out of politics.

Decades of universities brain washing students combined with corporate obsessions with only hiring people with university degrees has lead to companies being filled with political activists who think their activism is the purpose of their employment.

Doubt McDonald's actually alters course, at least not yet. They just announced a new higher quality burger to compete against the Whopper that will be around $6-$8. Whatever "value" menu they come up with, doubt it's going to be much of a value. Pretty much every chain now wants to expand margins rather than compete against each other on price. Losing some sales volume in exchange for higher profit margins is acceptable to them.

I forecast that in the near future, fast food places will be split into 2 categories where one is dirt cheap beans and rice price point and another is normal fast food but with 50% of the country priced out of it. Kind of like 5 guys but all of the regular chains will be 5 guys. I also wouldn't be surprised if 5 guys went out of business because when a Mcdonalds burger is 28 dollars theirs is going to be 90.

Wonder how big the market is for Five Guys level fast food. Obviously the market exists since Five Guys exists but chains like Taco Bell trying to move into that space doesn't seem like it will be successful.

5 guys will get pushed out of the market entirely or be forced to become trash since they won't make it economically as an upscale restaurant

I love how absolutely defeated ai gays are. This picture probably took OP over an hour to make by iterating the prompts he gave the AI. And it's not like he didn't notice there are 2 different Starbucks logos. He just said frick it this is good enough. AI is a joke and the people that use it are moronic.

I find it very funny how upset a random image makes you just because it was generated with ai. are you some furry porn artist that got shoved out of the market by ai?

Took me under a minute to have Bing generate it and three others. All AI images have weirdness and it's funny you're upset over the Starbucks logo and didn't even notice that the french fries box is filled with whipped cream.
Looking at the images now, it's interesting that they all have so many white people in them. Guess the black Popes over on Google scared someone at Microsoft.
      > He just said frick it this is good enough.
That part of your post is completely true. I've spent far more time on listening to your whining than I did on making a fast image.

I hate AI art because we’ll never get any real funny shitty meme drawings ever again. People used to have to cobble together whatever they could manage in MS paint, and it was fun and soulful. Now it’s all complete commercialized consoooomer images. depressing.

Are you an Asian? No one eats largemouth bass they are super gamey since they are hunting carnivores with lots of fast twitch muscles. Same reason no one but Asians eats cats. Target panfish they taste much better.

Here in Australia, supermarkets are reporting an 83% increase in profits in the last 12 months.
They have a 2.5x higher Return on Equity than our Banks, which are the most profitable banks in the world.
Its so bad that there's a year-long govt investigation into it, where after a week the CEOs of both supermarkets have been threatened with sanctions and jailtime for being in comtempt of court.
