All things food and drink.
never tried it
i've delivered a couple dozen order from them
the people inside panera feel like an adult chuck e cheese
i can buy steak/potato for the price of their soup of the day
>secret ingredient: the vaxx
covid vaxx jokes stopped being relevant 3 years ago
they are literally gonna be relevant till the end of the century and maybe even early into the next one
COVID vaccine did not exist 3 years ago
>guys let's just put this whole thing behind us
This. I have a asiatic friend with congenital heart failure who’s had at least 5 open heart surgeries, does coke and meth occasionally and lives off alcohol and Red Bull who’s still kickin. It was clearly the vax.
Tbh I was surprised at the caffeine content too, ended up not liking them from all the sugar. Ended up getting black tea almost everytime that year i had the 3 month trial to the drink pass and then kept going after it expired.
>ended up not liking them from all the sugar
how DARE those dumbass amerilards add SUGAR to LEMONADE!!!
truly, america is where food goes to die
How else should we be flavoring our sugar? Lemons are good, less risk of scurvy. And water is life!
I actually knew an American girl who somehow got fucking scurvy. Like... how? All your processed foods have vitamin c added to them so how did this dumb cunt wind up with scurvy lmao
tbf that is an insane amount of sugar and caffeine for a single fucking drink
it would be like chugging 5 redbulls in a row
Got me wondering what Americans are being recommended in terms of sugar consumption
>The Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2020–2025 recommends that Americans 2 years and older keep their intake of added sugars to less than 10% of their total daily calories. For example, in a 2,000 calorie diet, no more than 200 calories should come from added sugars (about 12 teaspoons).
You might have to skip the donut at breakfast or the desert pie after dinner, but still some wiggle room with another ~76g of sugar.
M8, it contains 124 *grams* of sugar, not 124 calories. 1 gram of sugar contains 4 kcal of energy, so that thing has almost 250% of the rda of added sugars all on its own.
don't go on about it being unhealthy, you'll upset the mutts
no one is claiming it's healthy, but stay obsessed
>good old fashioned American asspain
like clockwork 2bh
I've had a theory that the average american woman would drink *anything* if you put a straw in it
i cant remember the last time ive seen so much sugar in anything, much less a single drink
She wanted fat though
I could have saved her...
I could have saved her...
At least the Dunkin large Oreo shake didn't kill anybody, right?
The family will win based off the caffeine amount alone. Maybe there will be a national limit.
FDA already has a 'safe' limit of 400mg a day and has selectively enforced it against caffeine powders/pills but I'm not aware of any drinks that have been removed because of it
>For healthy adults, the FDA has cited 400 milligrams a day—that's about four or five cups of coffee—as an amount not generally associated with dangerous, negative effects. However, there is wide variation in both how sensitive people are to the effects of caffeine and how fast they metabolize it (break it down).
Its their fault for releasing a drink that is within guidelines?
Yeah, since those guidelines are for a grown man yet they're giving the same serving sizes to literal children
>then drink the stupid fucking lemonade
>am over the limit for caffeine after only two drinks
The lemonade makes up more than 3 quarters of that limit. It's not safe.
>literally like drinking 6 espresso shots mixed with 1 cup of sugar
Why are Americans like this
>Over 3x the sugar in 12oz of coca-cola
>90 mg of caffeine more than the extra caffeine energy drinks
Who is this for?
Cat ladies trying to feel something when they can't drink wine.
This is why I drink water. I may be consuming countless microplastics that fuck me up, but at least it doesn't have 100 grams of sugar.
jesus fuck. my preworkout is only 250mg per scoop.
what are you even on about
no idiot, it had the same caffeine content as a red bull and a monster, in addition to all the sugar
Redpill me on caffeinated lemonade
some fucktard with a heart condition ordered a lemonade with 400mg of caffeine and died
Fuck dude that makes me sad as fuck
Jk lol last name is Katz
Karma is a bitch!
Article says the issue is that she probably didn't know the lemonade she had contained the same amount of caffeine as a quart of coffee.
Definitely not the vaxx.
Definitely not the vaxx.
>Katz was diagnosed with long QT syndrome at age 5
She was diagnosed with a heart condition 16 years ago and then had a large amount of caffeine.
>Article says the issue is that she probably didn't know the lemonade she had contained the same amount of caffeine as a quart of coffee.
Which is fucking hilarious considering it's clearly posted on each container beneath name and calorie because hipsters.
If you have a serious medical issue, pay the fuck attention. It's not my job to babysit you and I don't want my lifestyle to change because you are/were/hahaha a dumb cunt.
damn, she went back in time just to get the vax. she's definitely going to save grandma!
>She was diagnosed with a heart condition 16 years
if you don't think this vaxx thing has been cooking for decades in a like quantum way then brother I don't know how to help you
400mg is a lot of caffeine, drinks with way less than that have warning on them already and for good reason. Bang wanted to be 357mg when they launched by had the foresight to throttle back to 300mg. You can't stop people from eating or drinking too much of whatever you sell but you can certainly minimize the risk to individuals by including warnings and controlling for serving size.
>some lightweight ordered a lemonade and died
Is it really 400mg? I could easily drink 3 of those.
don't get cocky. if it can kill an overweight, vaxxed woman with a heart condition, it can kill anyone
I've personally consumed 2g of caffeine in a day and only got heart palpitations and had to piss like a horse.
My preworkout alone is 300mg, I take this on an empty stomach shortly after my morning black coffee which is brewed in a press, very strong. Sometimes after popping a couple of excedrin and a shitload of various other stimulant like mushroom nootropics, followed by huge vats of ice tea later in the day. Probably at least 1g per day.
if you drink a bunch of grapefruit juice, it doubles the half life of caffeine.
however combination of grapefruit juice then black coffee will give you some awfully yellow teeth.
>lol im so tough I could drink a billion grams of caffeine and it wouldn't even effect me
I don't know who you are trying to impress or how it could be impressive though
>Probably at least 1g per day.
good for you
I guess you've made peace with permanently damaging your body in a way that leads to a painful, early death in exchange for being a little more awake or something?
it's like telling someone right out of college to start saving for retirement and getting the response
>nah I only plan to live till 45
it's all fun and games until you suddenly realize your parents are dying, your friends are either married with kids or dead from happenstance and you are left with the dividends of your younger choices
Shut up stupid nagger
please do. takes photos from the hospital trip as well when you get arrhythmia.
I really liked pic related when it came out
Never got to try it but the Spiderman one they had was surprisingly good.
Uhh that is clearly demon'ade though
don't talk to me until I've had my Charged Lemonade
god I'd wish she'd drink my lemonade and die from that instead
Would rim her. I would wish for a woman like this for life. All life. How to get? I love her facials and tank top.
Try taking a shower, putting clean clothes on, getting a job and you're 95% of the way there
not that anon, but i already have those things and can only pull single moms & fat chicks
get fucked covid hysterics
>Sarah Katz, 21, a University of Pennsylvania student, died in September of last year.
But why is this news now?
the parents of this girl filed suit
>american does something stupid of their own free will
There isn't a more common tale
>no-one should ever be held accountable for the actions taken when they voluntarily do something
you are retarded, if the lawsuit can prove negligence on the part of panera then they should get fucked
that is for a judge to decide
If it’s a question of FACT it goes to a jury.
If it’s question of law, it goes to a judge.
(In a civil trial)
so the lawsuit is saying the Panera Charged Lemonade was presented similarly to gatorade, and the text on the menu shows "as much caffeine as our dark roast coffee"
which the lawsuit is saying is misleading, the girl didn't avoid caffeine altogether, just highly caffeinated energy drinks(with all the additive shit that goes along with it)
also, their dark roast coffee doesn't contain anywhere NEAR that amount of caffeine or sugar or additives
this actually seems like they have a pretty good case due to panera outright lying about caffeine content
you shouldn't need to dissect the nutritonal info for every beverage option on a menu to find out if it contains a heart exploding amount of caffeine
it doesn't help that panera sells a drink subscription that gives you a number of large drinks per month
AHHHHHH LET ME OUUTTTTT
>120 a year
>6 month sub to the washington post????
ok that last one is fucking puzzling
I guess they are catering to their expected demographic
I had the mint drink once and halfway through I was jittery as fuck, was as strong as an energy drink, but I was expecting that since it says "charged"
stop drinking things when your body responds badly
I think this is the reason why it was even controversial in the first place since people want to claim their free drink, and drink it all
Caffeine takes about 15 minutes to kick in. If someone is thirsty and trying to take advantage of a free drink pass it is easy to drink 30oz in 15 minutes.
Caffeine gets me the first sip. And I have a pretty high tolerance too.
I do agree with you though putting the shit in lemonade does feel a bit deceitful, when it's expected you would drink the entire thing. Usually, a Bang's which has 300 mg takes me at least the entire day to drink, but usually I drino it over the course of two days. I can't imagine slamming one over the course of a meal, but anyone would if it were marketed as lemonade.
Plus, Bang's is one of the higher caffeine energy drinks, normal monster has 160, and I know some that have 80. I think coca cola is something around 30 mg, which is probably what one would expect from this charged lemonade
the suit alleges that she thought it was like gatorade and had a reasonable amount of caffeine, not 10x the normal amount
I guess it comes down to if you see the word charged is it reasonable to assume it is 2x an energy drink?
I would argue that I would not expect fucking panera bread to randomly have a 400mg caffeine beverage next to the regular tea and lemonade
>since people want to claim their free drink, and drink it all
those people were fools, maybe its cause I live 2 minutes away from a panera in bad traffic, but the drink pass let you get something absurd like 6 drinks a day, and thats if you beholden yourself to their rules. workers dont give a fuck. you could walk into a panera tomorrow and just grab a free drink. no one will even ask for proof of your subscription.
>their dark roast coffee doesn't contain anywhere NEAR that amount of caffeine
well im reading the pdf right now and it says the 20oz lemonade has 260 mg of caffeine and a 20oz dark roast coffee has 268 mg.
unfortunately the lemonade only comes in a large 30oz when you use their retarded 'sip club' shit which means you get 390mg of caffeine
their statement on the menu simply says that it's comparable to their dark roast coffee, but doesn't specify which size (268mg in their large) so maybe it does correlate between medium or something but not the large
i was just reading that dark roast has less caffeine than regular roast
> drink subscription
> fraudulent advertising
> straight up 5 cans of redbull in a cup
yeah I hope the complaintaint gets punitive damages in the 10s of millions
>you shouldn't need to dissect the nutritonal info for every beverage option on a menu to find out if it contains a heart exploding amount of caffeine
ANON LOL WTF
you don't check how much of a drug you're taking?
bro that's fucking hardcore.....
...like hardcore fucking retarded lmao
brother, it's a drug that can kill you, you're going to know your own tolerance and body weight, why would you trust a fucking food store to determine what's safe for you? do you just go up to your local dealer and be like bro, give me 1 'ringe of the good stuff and then nod your had agreeably and say "however much u think bro" when he asks how much fent you want in it?
Even if it's not a drug, you sure you don't wanna see how much sugar's in there? Perhaps make sure there's not some errant sucralose added in with the sugar?
>family files lawsuit to israelite out money from a company
as is tradition
>know you have a medical condition
>don't take any responsibility for what you consume and stop to think if something will kill you
nobody dies from caffiene
you die from asphyxiation or a heart attack
neither of which caffiene causes at any dose
Shut the fuck up retard
>Nobody dies from being shot by a gun, its the bullet travelling through ur brain that actually kills u
The fact you can vote makes me physically sick
I heard about that. Or, at least, I saw the headline. idk the details but I doubt the lawsuit has legs
There has to be a trillion things missing from the headlines. PANERA BREADS LEMONDADE WITH 60MG OF CAFFEINE KILLS YOUNG GIRL just sounds more riveting. They are probably not disclosing that she has heart problems or a meth addiction. Regardless the family will get 2 million dollars and that's all they care about.
>PANERA BREADS LEMONDADE WITH 60MG OF CAFFEINE
It is like you completely and deliberately ignored any discussion in this thread just to look as retarded as possible. If so, congratulations. It worked.
wait is caffeine bad for you
Yes but it makes you wage harder at work and isn't that fun to abuse off the clock so it will eternally be peddled as safe and effective
it kills creativity, makes you a mindless productivity drone, prematurely ages you, and makes your heart explode (vaxxed-only).
>it kills creativity
>makes you a mindless productivity drone
>prematurely ages you
Any proof of this mister scientist?
Ask anyone who regularly drinks coffee to go without it for a day and watch the crash, you tell me if it's bad for you. The only reason it's socially acceptable is because it helps employees keep working and isn't as bad as some of the more addictive stuff.
>Ask anyone who regularly drinks coffee to go without it for a day and watch the crash, you tell me if it's bad for you.
I drink caffeine from time to time because I'm an iced tea and milky iced coffee fiend, sometimes abuse it if I'm doing long term fasting for the variety but if I drink caffeine regularly for like 4 or more days I feel fucking miserable whenever I'm not taking it.
I've worked with caffeine addicts over the years and laughed it off but the crash from caffeine hits hard and fast compared to some of the other legal drugs like nicotine & alcohol. You have to abuse alcohol hard and fast to the point you'll be shitting your guts out with hemorrhoids long before you'll see the withdrawal symptoms kick in and feel like shit from withdrawal in any way. Meanwhile caffeine can take as little as a few days of sustained use to creep up on you.
>The only reason it's socially acceptable is because it helps employees keep working and isn't as bad as some of the more addictive stuff.
-And this part's the truth. Especially the first part. Being a stimulant rather than a depressant helps a lot.
It's perceived as less fatal because you have to work hard and be a darwin award candidate to meet your end to it.
Nobody is out there dying from 4 cups of coffee a day or steadily increasing their intake. Meanwhile nicotine is associated with good ol' lung & throat cancer and Alcohol has liver disease & Wernicke-korsakoff in the wings. Employers & corporations don't mind if you're a bit grouchy, crash or have a headache from not getting caffeine, why the break room's right over there. They do care if you're needing to take time off to chug down a nice ice cold beer though or standing outside smoking (negatively impacting the image of the business) reeking of an ash tray.
> In an autopsy report obtained by CNN, the medical examiner cites Katz’s cause of death as cardiac arrhythmia due to long QT syndrome (LQTS). LQTS is a disorder that can cause fast and irregular heartbeats that can be life-threatening, according to the Mayo Clinic.
The bitch had a heart condition and drank something with 3 times the amount of caffeine as a red bull and 3 times the sugar content of a coke.
Is there any other restaurant serving lemonade like this? Closest thing I could think of would be the fountain soda energy drinks at gas stations. I remember circle K used to have full throttle on tap. Don't know if they still do, but then it is pretty obvious you're literally buying 32oz of energy drink. Lemonade at a restaurant that's branded itself around having healthy and natural ingredients... I wouldn't have guessed it was some crackhead shit loaded with obscene amounts of sugar
Yeah, but if it takes a retard dying for them to get sued, so be it. Unfortunately even if they do end up paying out, they don't really lose anything since they already have so much money
>Have rare fucking condition that tells you not to drink coffee
>Sell me your strongest concoction
>had close to 1200mg of caffeine in under ten minutes because I kept getting refills at Panera
>took a nice nap an hour later
Any other superhumans ITT? Gonna feel sad that they are probably gonna take these babies away, oh well
Damn dude, you are really testing death
I'll admit, there is something uniquely liberating of consuming a dose that is about what triple of killed this girl but I shouldn't push my luck at the same time
this stuff looks so good at panera. i was gonna get one after picking up my food but the line was too long
Its just lemonade with more sugar and caffeine
Holy shit you disgusting consoooomer
my sister in law was hospitalized for this, no clue why the parents didn't do anything
surprised there are so few (1?) known deaths
There could well be more, one half of the country would blame COVID and climate change, the other half will blame the vaccine.
>no clue why the parents didn't do anything
Probably bribed with a free subscription
A israeli inbreeding health condition was the real culprit.
who the fuck decided they needed to make a lemonade with 400mg of caffiene in the first place
Get people addicted to literal crack tier shit to sell more drink passes
shame you yanks weren't all built for unlimited sips
she was a israelite, that's why her constitution was weak.
I could have saved her.
