I got this exact jar at food4less and it tasted like shit so I threw it out immediately. no fricking chance. I said I would make my own and forgot. I'll give it a go if anyone wants to chime in with their own recipe

They don’t even sell the best version of this shit in America because they’re gay. I’m too lazy for an exact recipe but here’s the gist for a superior version. Use sesame oil, none of the jar varieties use it and it tastes far better. Also crisp some ground beef in a pan with msg and salt and add it, not just cooked beef. Cook that b***h until it’s completely overcooked and just tiny little meat crumbles. This is how you make the superior version of chili crisp they can’t sell in your country.

Do they use some kind of light sesame oil? I feel like the typical toasted sesame oil would overpower the other flavors.

Just buy the Japanese made clones, they are a made with similar but much higher quality ingredients.

        Yep.
        >Made in Japan, the exact opposite of China in terms of food quality (if a single jar is ever returned for any reason, the entire company commits seppuku)
        >available right at Walmart or possibly even your local supermarket, no need to order off Temu, or venture into Chinatown to buy from a shop where you pay in severed enchanted dog penises
For me, it's S&B, miss me with those knockoff dollar-store Asians and the angry little boy on the label.

I love that stuff and have been using it on pizza for years. Assumed I was just a weirdo who bought something at the grocery store drunk and lucked out.

      this

      >have to go to the asian market and source several ingredients
      >stink kitchen up with oil
      >risk severely burning yourself

      or pay $3

Don't get me wrong. Chili oil is really easy to make yourself. But Angry Grandma Sauce is also really good, and cheap, and available everywhere, so why bother? It's like people who want to make their own ketchup or ranch. They've kind of lost the plot.

          >It's like people who want to make their own ketchup or ranch. They've kind of lost the plot.
I like to make things from scratch using fresh ingredients, adjusted to my tastes.
          Sorry for party rocking.
You apparently eat mystery jars of goop from China. with an angry scowling grandma face logo and a bunch of indecipherable hieroglyphics.
I'm not sure what "the plot" of your story is, but I'm much happier plotting my own path: a path that does not include blindly trusting that a mystery Chinese oil goop will not poison me.
          Good luck on your journey!
Or as they say in China "domo arigato!"

Do you put garlic in it?

The one I use has sesame but it's near the bottom of the ingredients

It'd the middest of spicey condiments. Its not particularly good and every version I've ever over powers whatever you eat with it. So I use it with mediocre Ramens and that's about it

I used to like it but nowadays it seems to lack flavor.
