Not true. Freshwater was first then over the course of eras minerals evaporated into the sky causing rain which then salted the oceans with salt, minerals, etc., hence life

            >minerals evaporated into the sky
More like freshwater rain eroded minerals into the sea, turning it salty.

    I think trout is superior.
Even the freshest piece of salmon has a very subtle undertone of sweaty feet that I don't care for.
Trout tastes very similar to salmon without that little bit of "funk" on the back end, making it a better experience overall.

      Amazing how evolution works, huh?

But, no. A salmon in freshwater is not called a trout--ever. That would simply be misidentification.

I think people get confused by the distinction between salmon and salmonids. Trout are salmonids/salmonidae fish, but they are not salmon. Salmon are also salmonids, but they are not trout.

Your infographic says literally nothing related to food and cooking. Salmon is more versatile, but the best trout I've had was better than the best salmon I've had. I don't understand why you would have to choose.

What would this debate look like on Culinaly? Is it like, which one is cooler? Or which one is more fit? Or which one you'd want to frick? Or which one would win in a fight? Or which one you'd prefer to keep in an aquarium? I don't understand. Doesn't trout win in every category other than "food source"?
