    True.
We will eventually run out of land to keep the animals. Let alone land to grow animal feed (which takes up more land than growing human feed).

Lab-grown meat will let everyone eat as much high quality meat as they want at a fraction of the price.

It will be high quality if we demand it to be high quality and refuse to buy it until it is.

The more my cooking skills improved the less meat I eat. Quality over quantity.

I had a similar experience with cooking. When I was younger and stupid I ate a lot of meat because it's easier to cook. Now I can eat something that tastes 10 times better every night by just using legumes and grains. Yeah id be annoyed to lose meat forever but it's not like I'd be eating gruel.

There's plenty of land to go around to raise grass fed beef. And if we stopped farming vegetables and grains, we'd have even more land for the cows to graze on grass, their appropriate diet, instead of shitty grains, cramped up in some shitty feedlot. It's all ass-backwards. So no, you're wrong.

They're trying. The problem for us is that we've all been classed as useless as far as that plan goes.

Growing animal feed separately and feeding it to the cows, actually takes significantly less land than cows living and feeding on pasture. Its about 3 acres of cow feed per calf+cow pair vs 30 acres of pasture per calf+cow pair.

You don't have to trust quora, I don't trust quora much either. Its 2024, you have the whole internet at your fingertips to look for other sources. Personally I think this grass-fed "movement" is just a scam to mark up meat prices.

Regardless, the pastures/grass require fertilizer like any other crop. Because the soil has a net loss in nutrients like potassium, calcium and phosphorus. Fore they went into the cow that made it to your dinner plate. And from what I can gather, grass fed cows take longer to be ready for slaughter. So they need more food over their lifetime.

A cow is born small, eats grass, gets big, then gets sent far away to a slaughter house. Where did the cow's mass come from einstein?

Plants get carbon(C), hydrogen(H), oxygen(O) and to a lesser extent nitrogen(N), from the air/rain. Everything else comes from the soil. If you knew anything about biology, you'd know living things need much more than those 4 elements. So unless your cows are capable of nuclear fusion, which they aren't, elements are being removed the soil and sent far away to be eaten.

Pastured cows that are constantly on the move dont eat the whole plant, they prune the tops, piss and shit on the soil and then move on.

Without grazers, you need to manage the grass anyways otherwise it gets too tall and when it dies it becomes a fire hazard during the dry season. We mow lawns and cows prune grass.

From the grass. The grass made 90% of the mass with photosynthesis.

if grass-fed beef was cheaper in terms of land than feeding them corn, why would any industrial farms frick around with corn at all? are you moronic?

Corn is obviously cheaper but it also makes the meat taste better so there would be a reason even if what you're saying wasn't true.

            >but it also makes the meat taste better
I suppose this is why American beef is so much better than Australian or Japanese beef despite them being popular all over the world, I wouldn't know because America doesn't export beef to my country for some reason.

            Anonymous

I think grass-fed beef tastes better. It has a stronger flavor but tastes cleaner, it's hard to explain. Since I've been eating grass-fed beef for so long, grain-fed beef doesn't taste good to me anymore. But I don't know if that could be due to the aging that beef undergoes. Perhaps grass-fed beef typically isn't aged as long.

anything can be made cheaper, it's a matter of will. and given how farmers are some of the biggest welfare queens in the country, you'll have to drag them kicking and screaming to change their ways.

There's quite lot of land suitable for grazing that isn't suitable for agriculture. In Scotland we have about ten times as much marginal land than arable land, meaning a vegetarian Scotland would be incredibly import dependant. Most countries don't have the same frankly insane food system as the USA.

Which country do you live in? What is your body composition like? Muscularity? Age?

While food isn't cheap, it is vital to health and survival. If you're going to cheap out on anything, it shouldn't be nutrition.
