Liquid/soft recipes

I had jaw surgery a week ago
I can only eat liquid foods for a week still, and then I'll be able to move on to blended foods for two weeks, and finally, soft foods (mashed potatoes etc) for two weeks afterwards

Please give me some easy, highly caloric and cheap recipes I can make. I'm going fricking insane already from only drinking the fruit juices and protein shots the hospital gave me

    Heavy cream.
If it's good enough for heavy baby cows it's good enough for you.

        Bone broth is pretty savory.
Maybe you could add oil to it to increase the calories.

You don't want to eat oil you'll just shit it out
          t.don't worry about it

No you won't, your body can digest straight oil unless there's something seriously wrong with your gut.
            >I want high calories but it can't be sugar or oil
            You are out of options.

Milk with honey would be a better choice. You could add a little cocoa powder if you want it chocolatey. Or cinnamon or vanilla.

          This.

Brodo in NYC has a whole entire menu of various broths, some with a grate of ginger, splash of coconut milk, or topping of chili oil or herbs. It is not hard. Drinking hot broth all day vs coffee is actually a health thing.

If I was in your shoes, I'd be pulling out the pressure cooker if I had no pain, and making rich stock. If I was feeling badly, well, I'd be buying bone broth and freshening it up with add-ins. I think there are some great soups that are easymode, from egg drop to avogolemono, to a nice soft matzo ball, to a creamy leek or potato soup, to butternut squash that you can curryize, and hit with some cilantro or toasted pumpkin seed ( oil).

I'm absolutely clueless about cooking, prior to this I pretty much only ate pasta and rice so I'm gonna follow internet recipes for everything

Nobody, it was corrective surgery because my maxillary was fricked up. It didn't make my jaw sharper or anything

If you've got a blender ("move on to blended foods" implies that you do) you can make tomato soup with heavy cream, high cal and tasty.

Yeah from what I'm gathering ITT I should stock up on heavy cream, plenty of stuff I can make with this

make protein shakes in a blender. buy a vitamix if you can afford it and it'll be completely liquid. you need to be maximizing your protein intake when recovering from cell damage, not just calories.

When I had some mouth surgery that put me in a similar predicament I had the gross idea of blending those chunky soups. It wasn't that bad at all, surprisingly.
