I broke my previous Zwilling knife and was managing with a small steak knife from IKEA for a while. I was about to order a cheap Thai knife but stumbled upon this listing. I thought thye would be on a bad condition and need a good sharpening but these are almost factory sharp.
I think the girl who was selling these had a bad break up and these are from her ex or something.
Why would anybody sell these for 10 euros

I think victorinox one should cost about 15-20 bucks but its double that amount retail.

why are you buying nasty ass knives and used up whetstones from secondhand sellers?

Good finds OP, I should check thrift stores and local sellers more often.
I sold my Victorinox for $35 a while back, which is around what I bought it for.

Pretty sure Victorinox used to be around $25-30, but it's fricking $55+ now.

They're good value, I'd definitely recommend them over a 'nox to someone looking for a beginner knife.

those are only small chips and doesn't effect the knife in anyway. I always get similar stuff when I'm working on bony meat. also for 10 bucks who cares?

There's a ceramic shop nearby that sells ceramic box cutters, actually kinda makes sense.

Yeah, my parents' knives are also like that and they cut fine after I sharpened them a bit.
Cheap knives' steels are also soft/tough enough there's no risk of cracks propagating.

grab a dictionary and reread my post

I've never abused my knife that bad, so I have no idea how long that massive chip in the metal is going to take to grind out of that high carbon steel, but there's a reason these are selling for that cheap. It's completely useless until you address it and the one at the bottom.

Even more gimmicky, an even thinner blade
Gues if you are doing mainly boxes it might have a very slight advantage, I do mostly random tape, boxes and wires
        T. locksmith
but, like 500 blades is less then the price of 2L of soda

Well this way you don't need to sharpen the blades and being retractable means less chance of chips in storage.
Expensive though. Apparently ceramic is used for Antarctic Fishery, Fine Art, Kangaroo Hides, Fire Starters, Sea Kayaks.

Victorinox's type of handle look uncomfortable as shit but with + zwilling rod + ikea knife FOR 10 EURO? massive stonk, congratulations OP
Enjoy zwilling rod, it so fricking sexy and lasting.

The seller included a whetstone too so even better deal.

The Victorinox looks like someone received it as a gift and didn't take care of it. The edge towards the hilt is really dull. You would've been better off overpaying for a new one and maintaining it yourself. Maintaining neglected knives is a waste of time.

Can you really get a bad deal on a Victorinox or fricking Ikea knife though? Throw the Ikea knife away or get a sharpening stone for that thing
