>make panfried vegetables cause cutting
>they suck up all the oil from the pan and start smoking
>add oil
>they absorb it again
>rinse and repeat
>suddenly dish isn't low-cal anymore
how do I prevent this from happening?

    Use a hotter temp

I try to get the pan screaming hot, but when the frozen stuff hits the surface the burner can't keep up. I guess I could try thawing them first?

      Boiling

Steam them. That or lower heat and actually stir your veggies you lazy frick.

Preventing oil absorption by removign oil from the equation isn't really what I'm looking for here. And I am stirring my veggies! I'll try lower heat next time.

why are you using two carb sources? you only need one. either get mix veggies without potatoes, or don't add the rice. this will solve your caloric issues.

I grabbed the wrong package at the store. I wanted the potatoless one. There's like one medium potato in there so it's not a big deal. This meal still fits into my budget, or at least it would if it didn't suck up all the goddamn oil.

That looks very tasty. You shouldn't stress over this stuff so much. Here in Japan I haven't had a "low calorie" vegetable dish in like 20 years. Lots of oil-heavy sautes around here.

Literal robot, I hope no one takes this sad person seriously.

      i would
      >steam them in the microwave for about half of what the frozen veg bag says to par-cook them
      >take them out and blot off the excess water with a towel to get them as dry as possible
      >proceed to pan fry them over med-high heat so they get crispy with minimal oil

      This tbh

      >tfw no microwave
damn, never thought I'd need one, but that does sound like the best solution.

you can chuck them in the fridge in the morning and by dinner they should be thawed enough, just make sure to dry them off nice and good before frying

Just toss the bag in a bowl and run water over it until it is thawed, then blot and fry.

"Low calorie" is for homosexuals. Exercise more, eat real food, and don't use seed oils, you won't get fat. You should be enjoying meals, not constantly stressing and raising cortisol.

given that you're a Culinalygay, you probably want this as easy and foolproof as possible

I wonder how many people buy air fryers and already have convection ovens
      My BIL did

It's a smaller thing, so it heats up a lot faster, easier to clean, and energy efficient. If I wanted some nuggies or pizza rolls or something like that, I'd definitely use an air fryer instead of a microwave, but not a whole ass oven.

And your girlfriend/"wifey" with her silicone implants is a fire hazard. Botox is a neurotoxin that you freaks inject into your forehead. Maybe you can't tell the difference but we normal people can.
