I'm so sorry. Just kidding. I don't give a fuck.
are you ok anon
I was almost blinded by a piece of glass but yeah. Almost all of the glass ended up into my sink's drain and garbage disposal.
Glad you’re okay, did you just end up having some candy for dinner?
I'm so sorry OP. At least it wasn't a casserole or you could have been seriously hurt.
>I had no idea Pyrex was so dangerous
https://www.allrecipes.com/article/what-is-the-difference-between-two-pyrex-types/
Basically old Pyrex glassware used to be made of Borosilicate which is highly resistant to thermal expansion and contraction which made it so good in the kitchen. Corning, the company that made Pyrex glassware awhile ago started licensing their IP out under two trademark names Pyrex & PYREX (all caps) to 2 different companies. The one that makes Pyrex uses either Soda Lime or Tempered Glass instead, because it's cheaper than Borosilicate and a bit stronger to physical shocks from being dropped. The other labeled PYREX still is allegedly made from Borosilicate which is a bit more conventionally fragile, but can stand up to being baked in an oven and switly transitioning to room temp without becoming a live grenade.
tl;dr What
said although this article says both are suspect:

You can however, buy glassware specifically advertised as being made like old Pyrex cookware on Amazon:

That lady's channel doesn't get the views/subs it truly deserves. She reminds me of that Food Scientist Woman with the lecture pointer in Epicurious's 4 Levels YT serious.
It should be a crime call that new trash Pyrex.
I have an old school REAL Pyrex pot and I'm fairly confident I could beat a man to death with it without it breaking. No such luck with the "modern" stuff.
ewww woody breast
Ever since i was a kid and my parents told me about spontaneous shattering its been a fear in the back of my mind. It finally happened this year, thankfully on the counter not the arms. Fuck modern pyrex.
Why didn’t you take a picture? If you don’t post a picture on the internet of every single notable thing that happens in your life, you will barely be able to recall fragments of abstract memories 10 years from now because you have brain problems from what you put into your body.
Because it happened on Halloween night, kids were knocking my door and I was trying to vacuum broken glass from my fucking garbage disposal. Last thought that came to my head was "hm let me post this on Culinaly for da lolz"
After reading your post, I'm not sure it would be a bad thing to not remember.
Ayo but why are you baking using glass trays
I can't believe anon typed this with the meaty shreds that used to be his fingers
That's why I like baking in metal pans
test
>he uses pyrex instead of PYREX
ngmi
Glass is for pies and casseroles and shit. Metal is for roasting.
I had no idea Pyrex was so dangerous
>Cornish game hens
YOOOO IS THAT A SPY REFERENCE?
noob
ann reardon did a pretty good video about the modern pyrex thing
