Man what the FRICK is with my fridge?
Stuff just molds after a couple of weeks.
Like cheese rated for November 2024, moldy after a few weeks
Chicken nuggets fricked after 2
Even sausages smell fricked up after 3 weeks
I have this shit turns up so far that drinks sometimes freeze up in the top slots
I'm sure the tortillas are probably fricked up too somehow

Probably poor circulation internally. You might need a defrost and check to see if the internal fan is broke or locked up. That would keep the lower bits from receiving cold air fast enough.

      There is no fan
It's just a giant evaporator coil in top
I'm pretty sure it gets cold all over because it's smol

Oh, then you just have a shitty refrigerator then. Basically these little "drink" fridges are terrible for stable cooling because they rely on cold air dropping instead of forcing that shit faster. This means it takes many hours longer to cool stuff. This is why more expensive fridges have fans and stuff to force the cold air into the other bits faster. Stick a thermo down at the bottom to see what it is really holding.

Though opened stuff gets mold pretty quick. Some cheese have shitty ass ziplocks, I found out that was my problem for quick molding cheese, and it went away after swapping the original package for real ziplocks that seal properly.

Pop a desk fan in your fridge to upgrade the cooling ability. We had a broken fan once and this worked well enough until we got a new fridge.

It's probably too warm, check the temp inside with a thermometer, you want 3 or 4 Celsius.

Check the seals around the door

Clean and wipe out with bleach solution.

Last time I cared I defrosted and cleaned the whole fridge and left it to dry open for a day.
Still fricked shit up so I gave up and only bought just enough food to eat it all in a couple weeks at most but the value in that is bad

The temp inside the fridge I don't know but it does ice up sodas if it gets real cold inside so it is probably close

It isn't regulating temperature correctly. If you had a probe in there you would see it cycling all fricked up. You could probably monitor the refrigeration cycle timing to confirm. Also don't have it backed against the wall. Also, don't keep tortillas in the fridge broke gay.

Cinnamon. It creates a non toxic barrier. It's spicy to ants and the fine powder coats their bodies if they try to pass thru it and they fricking hate it.

It's not a great fridge, Anon. I have the exact same one out by my pool and I keep beer in it. It sometimes freezes my beer, but it's better than walking 260 feet back to my house every time I want one.
The next larger nominal size one is the one you want...preferably with an externally accessed separate freezer

Why the frick would you think any meat would keep in a fridge for three weeks? Are you moronic?

I never said meat, I said sausages
It's America, our sausage is precooked and crammed with cancer causing preservatives that make it last for a year

It's a mini fridge. They are dogshit compared to an actual fridge and are no good for food. There is nothing wrong with it.

How can it be dogshit for food, it's a box that gets cold. Just like any other refrigerator.

    I'll buy a thermometer I guess.
I like this fridge because it pulls around 90 watts when it's running and seems to only use like 200 watts a day, which is good because it runs off two bigass solar panels and some batteries. I don't really want a frickhuge fridge because it will use more power for the abysmal amount of food I store in it

      >90 watts
Oh frick no. Your compressor alone is going to pull 300 watts minimum. You must have got a bad reading, or checked at a time when it wasn't under load. Fricking amateurs.

Maybe try using something as a moisture absorber like a thing of baking soda.

Does it get opened often? You could also try keeping a plate or tray in there to set the food on to help chill it faster via the contact

    might be poorly sealed.
might be becuase its on the floor.
    might be moisture buildup.

Why does wrapped bread that I bought from the supermarket become moldy in my cupboard after three days?

  16. 1 month ago

    >cheese rated for November 2024, moldy after a few weeks
Is this after you opened it?
The expiration date is for unopened products.
Also, things like cheese will last longer if you make sure you keep it as uncontaminated as possible.
Only cut it with a clean knife, and try to avoid contact with it as much as possible. If it's a block of cheese, then try cutting it with a knife with the plastic still on it, Then use plastic wrap to cover up w.e. is exposed.

Wtf is the alternative, that it's pumped full of preservatives and antifungals? You must be American.
Did this homie really expect cheese to last until fricking November?

those things are basically cool swamps. Shit will mold quickly because it's always damp in there. Best thing you can do is buy air tight containers and store your food in them.
