Controlled diet. Culinalygays care about their macros and do this kind of thing to control what macros they intake. I'm surprised there is rice, fit usually hates carbs.

That at least looks like it's seasoned.
A lot of those preppers seem to eat it completely plain and I really don't know why. A little hotsauce or whatever isn't going to nuke your gains, man. Treat yourself.

These people are eat to live types. Not live to eat people. This literally lets them cheaply eat and get on with their day.

Carbs are fuel, if you are working out or engaged in sports you need carbs. Not too much of course, but the only instance where you wouldn't eat any carbs is if you are exclusively trying to lose weight or you follow a special diet

I like to season the shit out of them(chili powder, cayenne, cumin, salt, pepper), brown them lightly in a pan, then throw it all in the oven for 20 minutes or so. Ends up being moist enough to withstand any microwave and goes great with uncle benis microwave rice. You could also brine them in pickle juice to make them even more flavorful and juicy. The sodium content is irrelevant, assuming you're earing only chicken breast as part of a diet/exercise regimen.

Yep, that's one avenue, great on a grill. Occasionally I'll add breakfast sausage spices and form it into patties so I can make a healthier version of a breakfast sandwich. Sometimes I'll just eat it as ground meat, good for tacos or a salad bowl.

heat them until white and then roll them under slight pressure parallell to the grain, meaning the grains will separate into chicken noodles. (or just simply "pulled chicken")

They make it bland on purpose, so they have a miserable time eating. That way they don't cheat on their diets and focus on exercise. Endorphins from working out, not from pleasure eating. It's how you stay fit over your lifetime. Food only for sustainment, not enrichment.

I airfry already marinated chicken from the fridge instead of eating reheated meat for weeks. A rice cooker also let's me add lentils, rice and some spices and frozen veggies to make a sort of discount kichuri which tastes great and feels hearty especially with some fried eggs, breaking the yolk over the rice feels great every time. Mealprep is for people who really can't be bothered to cook at all. It's not difficult to make tasty food quickly and with low effort while also maintain your macros (you don't need to be extremely thorough unless you're very health conscious or trying to have a very low body fat% and look perfectly shredded all the time)

pulled. instant pot for an hour or slow cooker for 6 if you don't have one. add just enough liquid to cover. stock, beer, water if you have to.
when it's done, drain and add bbq sauce, if you gotta be tight on your macros make your own with splenda. if you're tight on time too try italian dressing. you can insta-pull your chicken by dropping it in a mixing bowl and using an electric hand mixer on it. the beaters tear it right apart.
I usually pair with things like air-fried potato wedges, air-fried vegetable fries, steamed veg, rice, beans, etc.
I try not to judge guys for just boiling chicken breast and having that with microwave veg and rice. Some people will sleep on a mattress on the floor in the corner of a room.

If you overcook the chicken a little or use a dash of spray oil, or cut the chicken pretty slim it'll crisp up pretty nice.
Not ideal for health since it's more of a carcinogen when it's crisped and browned

  7. 2 months ago

this is kind of dumb, mostly because food like that barely requires time to prep and foods like brocolli and greens can be bought frozen for cheaper and more nutritionally intact than fresh (because flash frozen), they're also easier to prepare. Freezing and reheating chicken and rice ruins their texture

I understand the concept of meal prep for super busy people and fitgays but surely by day two the food starts tasting not so good. Old leftover chicken gets really nasty in a day or two in the fridge. Do preppers not mind the taste of nasty old food? And do they store their prepped meals in the freezer or the refrigerator? Five day old cooked fridge chicken is disgusting and probably a health hazard.

I'm a fit gay and I meal prep bland shit like in the OP for meals on the go, I eat two meals during the day when I'm at work and just scarf them down as fast as I can when I have free time so idgaf what it tastes like. Usually just chicken/veggies/potatoes or chicken/rice/beans and slather it in hot sauce.

I cook good meals at home on the weekends and for dinner during the week but I refuse to eat fast/restaurant food and need to fit in easily measurable macros so poverty prepping is just the easiest way to do it.

Not EVERY meal has to be delicious, I've actually come to prefer with just eating fuel until the evening then having a tasty dinner.

Rice is good for bulking because it digests quickly, Potatoes on the other hand digest much slower and are good for cutting. So it depends on if you're fat or not.

You'd prep meals about 2-3 times a week. It's not that hard, it actually saves money, time and hassle. Culinaly is the wrong place for this thread because most of the posters here are permanently obese manchildren addicted to sugar anyway.

I've despised preppers for years but since my current work I sometimes cook for two meals instead of ones.

What do you do on Culinaly if you don't like cooking ?

You know how people go on Culinaly to post about how they hate anime, or on Culinaly to post about how they hate games? It's the same here on the food and cooking board. We get a lot of eating disorder enjoyers in particular, which is fun.

Eating nothing but underseasoned chicken breasts and steamed veggies every day is a fate worse than death, but there is nothing wrong with prepping meals up to 3 or 4 days ahead. Most recipes have that many portions anyway, and it works great to save money and eat at work instead of going out every day. Just using chicken thighs and properly roasting the vegetables makes them 10x better. You can use all kinds of brines and marinades, and literally any carb other than boring rice is an improvement.

I knew a guy that ate like this but drank alcohol nearly every weekend. he'd drop out of physical routine yet would claim the food is so important. I tried to educate him that sure you can drink alcohol but you can never fall out of your physical routine. the food doesn't matter. I can eat pizza buffet everyday and I'm going to be bigger than you if I stick to a routine and you don't.

Fat people can easily become bigger that fit people if they eat lots of food and drink alcohol

Meal prepping once a week is more cooking than 95% of Culinaly does in a month.
Culinaly doesn't like it because it smells like Culinaly, which makes them feel bad about eating grocery store rotisserie chicken, heat-and-eat frozen alfredo, Perdue frozen buffalo wings, and ghost energy drinks for dinner 6 nights a week.

Put an average Culinaly tourist and an average Culinalyizen into a room with a bag of raw navy beans and a pile of mustard greens and only one of them is making dinner without poisoning themselves.

My idea of meal prepping is buying a can of spam, a can of corned beef, a can of tuna, and a can of chicken.
It's still cheaper than buying the equivalent items from a fast food chain.

When I was bulking I just tried to eat a lot of protein and things worked out pretty well. There is absolutely no reason to eat dried out chicken breast every meal.

Culinaly prepping is about being a vain homosexual. It has very little to do with food and cooking.

This thread is moronic. Go tell Culinaly you only eat chicken and rice and have fun being belittled.
