This is actually pretty accurate. Plant 'meat' is probably like 1000x cheaper in production and if it doesn't impact the taste and texture the standard consumers won't care, plus it is probably nutritionally better than 100% beef.
The only problem is that the butthurt carnivore enthusiasts hate everything healthy and the butthurt meat replacement product lovers will try to convince everyone that 100% plant based would be as good.

You can already put tomatoes, lettuce, onions or whatever vegetables you want on a burger. I really don't see the point from a consumer perspective.

        >Plant 'meat' is probably like 1000x cheaper in production
Absolutely wrong. Meat is part of an incredibly efficient system of production. Cows are fed inedible plant byproducts that would otherwise go to waste, they then produce milk, and eventually beef. You grossly underestimate just how efficient farming practices are if you think producing plants en masse would not only be cheaper, but more practical.

Cattle can also graze on nonarable land that you couldn't even grow plants on anyway. Plant-based proponents really don't have the first clue about the real world.

Dairy cattle aren't used for meat, they are entirely different.
You are otherwise correct that meat is solar powered and lab grown meat will never be cost effective.

It's extremely disturbing for government policies to be made by people who think farms shouldn't exist because people should just use grocery stores. They have no concept of what arable land is and think population is limited by building sizes.

            >Dairy cattle aren't used for meat, they are entirely different.
That's not entirely true. Once they stop producing, they are slaughtered and sold as lower grades (standard, utility, canner, cutter).

Dumbest retard post I've seen today. Nothing about destroying forests and indirecting fertilizer on grass is going to make it more efficient than just growing a bunch of soybeans directly.

Soy is grown primarily for pigs and poultry. Herbivores dont need that much protein.
Even cafo cows mostly are fed grass like hay and silage, then finished on corn. Grass fed is kind of bullshit since all cows are fed grass.

You still need pablos to beat the shit out of the cows when it starts cannibalizing itself and you need them to keep their shit from mixing with their drinking water
Meanwhile growing soy can be done almost entirely with machines

I'm cracking a joke you fucking sperglord, but, if you insist:
The statement of "the price doesn't reflect that" implies that the costs of producing plant based meat are extremely out of proportion with the sales price - I.E. profit margins are huge. It would, in theory, make sense to cut sale prices to pass this value onto consumers and drive demand for ersatz-meat, but the joke is that the executives at these ersatz-meat companies are too greedy to do that and would rather just force it down consumers' throats.

Not shocked at all. The product in OP could be cheaper purely because it's just black bean and soy doctored beef without any cope chemistry and dark voodoo protein texturing.

        No it's not nutritionally better
Cows, even cows who live in misery covered in shit full of cancer and infection produce meat that even blended with 30% fat is still healthier than soy that has 20 different industrial process and is mixed with toxic shit to make It edible, that soy contains more processed oil than the beef contains fat because they have to trick your brain into thinking you are consuming something good
