No, we hate it because every damn thing they make looks like it's already been digested by at least two other people before finding its way to your plate.

Just tell them to plop whatever slop onto the injera and that's it. They'll certainly have a sampler of some sort so that's what you should get.

it looks like various canned foods, salad from a ag and shitty bread. The green liquid intrigues me, but that's about it. At least with indian food, curry looks like good sloppa and naan bread is actually amazing

Just because something looks like slop doesn't mean it tastes bad. Most curries from all around the world just looks like sloppa.
That being said, anyone calling Ethiopian cuisine good is probably just trying to look cultured, its shit.

serious reply, i live next to an etheopian place and it fucking rocks. it's super cheap and very tasty.

I usually share a 2 meat 2 veg combo which will usually include yebeg alicha (lamb), minchet abish deqa (some kinda beef stew), miser wet (lentils), shiro wet (chickpeas), sometimes i will get the kik alicha which is split peas i think. doro wet is also good, but it's just a chicken leg and boiled egg in sauce so not as filling if ur hungry.

eat it with ur hands scooping it up with little pieces of injira (the bread) and shit is so kino cash

Yeah, they're not exactly thriving, but most of that is a combination of frequent drought and the fact that they're in a civil war. The last time there was actual famine was in the mid 80's. That's where the idea of "finish your food, there are starving children in Africa" comes from.

idky, but I don't think of people from the Horn as Black folks. Weird, right? My ex is Black and we went to an Ethiopian resto with the bitch's mother and she was upset that the Ethiopians seemed to, in her view, act like they were better than her. Neither my ex nor I noticed any slights or anything but she imagined they were treating her badly and said, loudly, "I don't know why they act like they're any better than us. Look like niggas to me."
It should be noted my ex never used that word at all so I was taken aback to hear my MiL say it.
Anyway, clearly, my ex's mother would agree with you that they're Black folks.
Gosh, she always caused scenes when we out anywhere with her now that I think of it.

It's subjective homosexual. Injera and wots are comfort foods. Like mashed potatoes and gravy, red beans and rice, pea soup. Just simple, nourishing ingredients augmented with flavorful Hispanices at a cost that won't break the bank. How does this board attract so many tards who don't like food or cooking?
