      >The American medical industry is such a scam.
This, except nutrition industry and not medical because diet crap has nothing to do with medical science. I basically follow:

      • 1-2 servings of animal product/meat/protein
      • 2-3 servings of vegetables/fruit
      • 1-2 servings of starch

for every meal. Even if the only dietary advice you give out is to eat more homecooked food (aka not fast food or restaurants) and limit alcohol that would probably save more lives than pushing a specific diet plan.

Assuming that people actually follow it.

        I love sugar, bros.

Sugar would be nice if it could genuinely just be an occasional treat. But thats not how it works, eating in moderation with sugar is a complete meme because your brain just tells you to keep eating more and more. Its a survival mechanism from way back when fruits/sweet things were completely different and your body is telling you to get as much as possible to brace for famine. That + no proper nutrient profile means you can just keep shoveling down food constantly.

          Anonymous

Sugar is extremely energy-dense, which is why it's good for periods of low food security. You get really fat really quickly eating it, which is just stored energy reserves your body can use when you can't find food normally. Your body wants you to be kinda fat at all times, being lean is a modern vanity thing.

You realize "6-11 servings" doesn't mean 6-11 loaves of bread, right? 1 serving is a slice of bread. The recommendation is for 600-1100 calories out of your daily 1400-2000 calories, based on your personal needs, to come from whole grains, like oats, whole wheat bread, or brown rice.
Your "fixed" version has you living on 500 calories a day.

    >In the past two years, he has published four papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals, two of them devoted to another major culprit he has singled out as responsible for atherosclerosis, or the hardening of the arteries: an excess of polyunsaturated vegetable oils like soybean, corn and sunflower — exactly the types of fats Americans have been urged to consume for the past several decades.
    >The problem, he says, is not LDL, the “bad cholesterol” widely considered to be the major cause of heart disease. What matters is whether the cholesterol and fat residing in those LDL particles have been oxidized.
    >“Cholesterol has nothing to do with heart disease, except if it’s oxidized,” Dr. Kummerow said. Oxidation is a chemical process that happens widely in the body, contributing to aging and the development of degenerative and chronic diseases. Dr. Kummerow contends that the high temperatures used in commercial frying cause inherently unstable polyunsaturated oils to oxidize, and that these oxidized fatty acids become a destructive part of LDL particles. Even when not oxidized by frying, soybean and corn oils can oxidize inside the body.
    >If true, the hypothesis might explain why studies have found that half of all heart disease patients have normal or low levels of LDL.
The entire concept of this diet, that being an LDL cholesterol-lowering diet, is flawed.
Scientific evidence suggests that the saturated fat = heart disease theory is incorrect:

Then there's the fact that most of the vegetable oils are already rancid (oxidized) by the time they are sold: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQmqVVmMB3k
Take a look at the ingredients of foods in the store some time. Almost everything has fucking soybean oil in it. That oil is literally rancid.

                >that fiber ferments in the gut

How about eating less you fat fuck?
I swear these fat fucking naggers keep finding new bullshit so they can pretend it's not the volume of food they ingest that make them huge disgusting monument to gluttony. Always circling around "it's because of fat, no it's sugar, no it's carb in general, no it's because I wasn't drinking soy or eating raw onions, oh it's because im not eating italian pizza on my momma's lap", I wouldn't surprised if retards start going full traditional chinese medicine mode and start eating fucking half-starving half-aids ridden animals thinking they'll steal the thinness from it.

    Garbage.

By the time you've eaten enough soy and other plant proteins to catch up to the guy eating steak that has all the amino acids he needs your gynecomastia has set in and your gut is leaking from all the saponins you ingested.

Congrats on your newly acquired gastrointestinal issues and food allergies. But hey you showed those stupid meat eaters, after all red meat is bad for you... right?

    >avoid: chips and soda

If anyone reading this needed to be told that anything in the "avoid" column was not good for them then they deserve everything coming to them when they take on this diet.

I mean, I get it, we meds eat olives and figs and cook with olive oil and garlic and eat veggies and stuff. But what the fuck am I supposed to exactly eat in a "portfolio" diet? A stack of papers? My resume? The stocks that I bought and forgot about? And no, S.O.I isn't a good alternative

They can give it a new name and claim ownership of it, but all of these widely recommended diets are pretty much identical. They might call attention to one or two specific things to try to make it unique, but the principles are all the same.

Meat is murder. Evidence shows that switching to a plant and protein-substitute based diet is simply more environmentally sustainable and ethical.

murder is defined as the unlawful killing of one human being by another. the killing of an animal not murder by either definition. in fact it's the opposite, the killing of the animal leads to the giving of life to a human. killing animals for their meat is lifegiving and arguably moral. the only way you can disagree with this is if your position is to hold the life of an animal above all humans.

      >ethical
The more we learn about the world, the more obvious it is that plants suffer too. You think just because they're less similar to us and have even less of a voice to cry out with, it's moral to kill (and often torture) them for our benefit?
