Not sure if they have this in the US or not, but it’s the most hilarious candy scam ever. “Let them pay for air and enjoy it like that!” Whoever in marketing thought up this product deserves a lifetime achievement award.

You pay by weight, not volume, and buoyancy ensures the holes have zero weight.
You have to watch out for the scammers that fill their candy voids with sulphur hexafluoride

      >You pay by weight
No you don't. It's right alongside all the other candybars, priced based on size. Small ones cost the same as small Kit-Kat, Twix, etc., large ones cost the same as full-size. No candybar is sold by weight lmao.

that's still paying a 'by each' unit price. the bit that shows how much it costs by weight is a common descriptor that allows consumers to better understand the comparative value of similar products. if i walk into my local supermarket there'll be a little bit on the price tag that says that one tomato sauce is 75p per 100g and the one next to it is 79p per 100g. i cannot, however, opt to buy a specific weight of tomato sauce if i want to pay 75p but they only sell it in 200g jars for £1.50. i can turn around the corner to the butchers' counter and say 'alright mate, gizza half a kilo of those sausages please' since those are sold by weight and priced accordingly. you get me?

They used to sell this for a while
I always wanted to try it but kept pushing it off
You can't get it anywhere and I lost my chance, I lost my shot
Why couldn't I just try it?
Why was I always too full or not hungry enough for a candy bar?

        WRONG. it's sold by weight

so where does one go to purchase specific weights of aero bars, because i'm pretty sure if i pop down the cornershop and tell mr mitesh i'd like to have exactly 100g of aero chocolate he'll tell me to buy 3 of them and to get some sense while i'm at it.

What he means is that in the absence of buoyancy the holes would have weight.

The weight of the air in the hole is exactly compensated by the buoyant force of the air it displaces.
Put another way, a plastic bag weighs the same whether it's inflated with air or crumpled up. This is because the air around us acts like a fluid. If you were filling a bag with something besides air this wouldn't hold.

If you load a semi truck with chickens and all of the chickens take flight, and thus are floating, the truck would weigh the same as if all the chickens were standing on the floor. You definitely pay for the air.

Powered flight is different from floating.
Actually if you filled the candybar with hydrogen bubbles eventually it would float and they have to pay you to take it

No because the chickens are pushing air downwards to fly which pushes on the floor of the truck. The overall weight wouldn't change.

All candy is a scam. You don't need it ever. It's simply a drug deemed socially acceptable. Drug? Yes, it induces short term pleasurable feelings at the cost of your health. Literally the same.

the real kicker is that it's Nestle chocolate, so it actually tastes better with the air inside of it, because you're eating less Nestle chocolate.

aero and mirage are nice, but yeah when aero made an ad campaign about adding more air to their bars. big yikes.

I wish it was just air. It's 50% air, 30% sugar, 15% Polyglycerol Polyricinoleate, 5% chocolate.

If you want a non-aids corporate chocolate bar Crunch is pretty good, 50% air, 25% sugar, 25% real chocolate.

Don't get the thin ones though, buy the thick.
