On the subject of 'bowls'

>Notice more and more foods sold as 'bowls'
>Nacho salad 'bowls'
>Pizza 'bowls'
>Taco ramen sushi 'bowls'
>Nashville fried chicken and california-roll bowls
>Thai green noodle curry 'bowls'

When does this trend of marketing everything as a 'bowl' end.

    >Add beans, rice, extra lettuce, etc
    >Market it as a bowl
It makes you feel okay with paying more for less substance and more filler

      >>Add beans, rice, extra lettuce, etc
      it as a bowl
Anon, you can literally survive on beans and rice. How's that a filler

Nutritionally it’s fine. He means filler as in it provides higher margins.

        >steak bowl
        >2oz of steak
        >a shit ton of beans
        >a shit ton of rice
        >that’ll be $15 + tax + tip
It’s so they can make it sound cool and trendy when they’re selling you a majority of dirt cheap shelf stable ingredients rather than the steak that the dish is labeled with

It doesn't bother me. I just keep seeing everything marketed as a 'bowl'.
Is this a quirk from Japan?

my favourite one is the 'nourish bowl.' it doesn't mean anything.

i think it's just a health food trend.

Half this but it's not really healthier. I think it started as "healthier" option for burritos/texmex food where they just dump meat, salsas and veg on a 1kg bed of rice and beans that normie women have been convinced do not contain carbohydrates unlike that dastardly wheat tortilla wrap. Where I live, college students only order stuff that comes in "bowls" like this because they eat half of it when ordered and save the other half for their lunch the next day.

I worked there when they introduced the 5 dollar fill up. The famous bowl was some good sloppa. That was the last time you could have kfc for a decent price. Now its way more affordable to get fried chicken at the publix deli. I bet that shit you posted costs like 10 bucks.

It's a way to skimp out on plating/prep while appealing to yuppie retards who think it's chic.
    >cook ingredients
    >throw them all in a bowl
    >that'll be 15 dollars please

We've been eating out of bowls for hundreds of years. Just ignore the dump name and eat your slop

It's a way of taking any dish or cuisine that's often a variety of unintegrated ingredients, the kind of thing that would normally be served on a board or platter or large plate for many people, and serving it in a form that an individual person would find acceptable as an entree.
    >here are your beans, rice, shredded or ground meat, vegetable medley, and sauce/dip sir
    >wtf this is just a bunch of different scoops of shit on a plate
    >sorry sir here's the same thing in a bowl so it feels slightly more cohesive, like a salad

    Bowls are superior to plates.
    >soup
    >easy to take on the go
    >don't spill shit
    >hold more food

Plates are a thing of the past boomer. Nobody eats anything on a plate anymore except for the rare steak but in this economy who can afford anything but bug meat?
