It's healthier to drink diet/zerosugar soda than regular soda.

People meme about cancer causing sugar substitutes, but I've never met anyone who got cancer from drinking them. I've met plenty of people that drink a lot of sugar/corn syrup soda and have diabetes.

100% agree. the whole cancer shit and stuff about aspartame being bad is a total meme. it's bullshit. diet sodas won't make you sick or fat, the worst part of them is caffeine addiction and drinking too much can make you feel bloated. that's it. anything else is cope.

Agreed. The worst thing diet sodas will do to your body is make you crave sugary foods and beverages when you're on a diet.

Cancer meme about diet/zero beverages is an obviously lie.

How do you know what caused a person's cancer? Sure, if you work in an abestos mine and get lunch cancer, that's obvious but stomach cancer from Diet Mtn Dew, how would you know what was the culprit?

You can never know for sure. What you can do is analyze lifestyle and choices to find likely culprits. With a large enough sample size, which, unfortunately cancer gives us, you can get pretty close to certain.

/fit/izen here. We used to autistically argue about this on our board all the time until the answer came out recently regarding diet soda and cancer. Turns out you need to be drinking like a 12 pack or more a day for even the smallest cancer risk to appear because of the soda. Almost no one drinks it like that so it's a non worry

Yeah trashing artificial sweeteners is irrational. People lump them all in together even though they are completely different chemicals/substances. The ones in mainstream diet sodas are the sketchiest though, but still. The best way to avoid cancer is to not-be fat.
I once read a study about how artificial sweeteners supposedly shrink the thymus gland. So I actually read the study... and what happened was they tried to feed food with artificial sweetener to rats, but the rats wouldn't even eat it and starved themselves, and that's why they shrank! But the stupid article is just like "artificial sweetener make thymus gland shrink!"
Mainstream reporting on "science" and diet is a fricking joke, they don't even try to be honest or make sense. Getting a cancer would be a gift anyway, then I'd get to leave this stupid world earlier.

I think Little ceasers and Cici's pizza is better than Dominos. My friend would always bring back Domino's leftover pizza from her business meetings and it just clicked in my head one day that their pizza is ass.

The vast majority of all social problems stem ultimately from people not experiencing hunger on a regular basis. It's the basic mechanism we all share that promotes planning, critical awareness, sacrifice and cooperation. No one is immune to hunger, and destroying that fundamental tie destroys all subsequent ties over time. Grocery stores are more sterilizing, infantilizing and demoralizing than any conspiracy-of-the-week boogaboo you could imagine.

I'm worried about the taste, though. The taste is different and I'm not sure if it's bad or because I'm used to something else.

    Methanol isn't healthy.
    Tastes like shit.
If you're not drinking regular soda, might as well not drink it all together.
