well I get my Cadbreeze in Australia and to me they seem exactly the same as the ones in America. granted they were bigger and had a harder shell back in the 80s, and you would never ever find one that leaked and was all sticky on the outside and now it's about 50%

The kitchen paper in the upper part is the closest thing you've got to food.
I'm sure it's all delicious and fine to have every now and again but none of that is anything I would subsist on.

Not OP, obvs, but I never want those. Cadbury eggs and Terry's orange are two of the most vile seasonal chocolate-based sweets in existence. I've never liked either and don't I ever will.

What's in the clamshells to the left?
I went to the supermarket after my run this morning and grabbed dill, parsley, cauliflower, heavy cream, four jars of Claussen pickles and a rack of pork ribs. Also just got in from running down the green grocer at my corner for some zucchine but she had some artichokes on the dollar shelf so I grabbed a bag of those, too.
      Grand total of $33.71.
Gonna fillet the meat from across the rib bones and use it as a substitute for pork chops for tomorrow then use the still-kinda meaty ribs themselves to make pork stock for a gravy that will go with some pork-stuffed cabbage I'm making in a few days.

okay honestly not bad. Way better than OP. only critiques is you spent by the looks of it roughly 33-40% of that on piss water they call IPAs. and you would save by just cooking regular rice and seasoning how you want on your own. Other than that, not bad

        Anonymous

Thanks. The IPAs were BOGO so I couldn't say no (although I actually like IPA). Also they were like >9%. I have plenty of regular rice but the stuff there is all BOGO so I figured I'd get some variety.

Cookies. I actually already had some fresh vegetables at home. And some frozen peas.

          >Cookies.
Good shit. Everyone's allowed some junk every now and again.
          It's kinda funny.
For their new year resolution, my best friend and his wife have completely cut out all highly processed food and they're, according to his own admission yesterday, struggling not to get a pack of "white chocolate macadamia chocolate cookies" at the supermarket because the bakery is right across from the produce section and the smell drives them batty. He went out of his way to describe the cookies telling me
          >no, bro, you don't understand; they're the best shit. they have chunks of white chocolate and chunks of macadamia nuts in a dark chocolate sugar cookie
So I asked why he doesn't just buy some, have one and put the rest in a jar and he said that they can't do that because he'll eat them all without even noticing.
It really sounded like addiction and withdrawal. He even mentioned some recent NIH study about how addictive and "bad for you" processed foods are.
Meanwhile, my missus and I will have have a little bit of junk from time to time and have no problems not overindulging so I don't really understand the inability to not just devour an entire box of cookies or something.
          >frozen peas.
Love them shits. Every have Neapolitan pasta and peas? It's my favourite food. I think it got conflated with carbonara because it's another pasta dish that's made with eggs and bacon but this one is a soup.

Yeah man. Love peas in pasta. Got the pearl onions and peas BOGO. It's all about the BOGO

              >It's all about the BOGO
Not always but yeah, generally. Sometimes the bogo is a bad deal because the price was inflated for it. Gotta keep an eye on that.
              >pearl onions
I keep a bag of frozen ones when I can get them on the cheap and put them in my stews as a soup vegetable, otherwise, I cheap out and use shallots since they're $2/lb fresh. Not as good as frozen pearl onions, tho.
