So a few days ago I told you I was going to live off white rice, but in one day I got sick of it. I tried doing what you guys suggested, went out and bought some unsalted chicken stock, and i really can't taste a lot of flavor in it. It really needs some fucking salt, so gonna try putting some salt into the stock, though I guess that defeats the purpose.

I can't eat unsalted foods, it's so fucking bland and has no taste. I just need to give the white rice a taste profile because right now it's like eating bland rice. Soy sauce always gave it a delicious flavor, guess I should have just bought a bottle of fucking soy sauce, but soy sauce is just pure salt, ergo I'm assuming that I'm addicted to the salt profile, so I can just put a bunch of salt into the stock and maybe that'll make it tastier.

This post would make a great start to a novel. It introduces so many questions.

Try putting coffee grounds or tea leaves in the rice water.

also, try using the heat of the rice to cook the egg

OP here, I tried cracking a raw egg in cooked rice one time, it was messy and nasty. It didn't taste good, but the rice itself was bland, so that might have been the problem. If I had added soy sauce it probably would have been much tastier.

Enjoy your salmonella. They can do that in Japan because they test their eggs. In the US we give chickens antibiotics which may or may not work, google salmonella raw egg and if you're a weeb, look up how japan does it's egg production.

Even in the US the infected rate is roughly 1 in 20,000. You are more likely to get hit by lightning or die in a car crash than get a salmonella egg in US. If you manage to get salmonella against all odds your chances of dying are less than 1%

If you're eating multiple eggs every day like this guy is proposing you're eating nearly 1000 eggs per year. I suspect he intends to live longer than 20 years (though obviously if he actually does this he'll die of malnutrition before then). Also, I could walk into traffic and I most likely won't die but I don't do that. Do you know why? Because getting hit by a car fucking hurts even if it doesn't kill you.

Parsley, garlic powder, butter, and a bit of soy sauce. Makes a pretty enjoyable rice, but you're still going to get sick of it quick. You can just dump all the extras in at the end. If you want some chicken taste without adding chicken, I think Better than Bullion would be your best bet here, stock is gonna be pretty mild and an actual bullion cube wouldn't work for individual servings, BtB I think is a paste so you can mix in a small quantity.

Live exclusively off of ground beef, butter, and salt.

Too much effort. Rice is easier to cook than ground beef, though butter is a good thing to try adding to the rice, should have picked some up. I just always put soy sauce on it and it made it tasty, some anon suggested cooking the rice in stock to give it more flavor but it didn't seem to do that much.

M8, pick something with nutrients if it's all you wanna live off. Brown rice, grits(pressure cooker one doesn't need stirring), potatoes(boiled, pressed through potato press, fried, no peeling necessary), etc.

That is not the function of rice. It's not a side like roast potatoes or pasta, it is supposed to add carbs onto a much richer main dish. Stop eating rice with unsalted ground beef you fuckin idiot

Toast the rice before cooking it and use more stock. Add tomato sauce or paste if you want. Don't use unsalted stock, get low sodium at least.

just cook the ground beef and butter together with the rice to make it simpler dude

I've never cooked rice in a skillet/pan, is it hard? I'm scared I'll burn the rice or fuck it up, i thought you only did that for fried rice like in a wok? I don't own a wok. I also don't have a glass top cover, so I have nothing to cover the pan/skillet with. I just have my zojirushi rice cooker.

your only problem is comfort. you know you can have more, you don't HAVE to just eat plain rice, so you are battling your willpower which seems to run out in less than a day. taste is meaningless to this equation. it's data to tell you if you should eat something. you know you can eat rice, the data is useless. ignore it

Ha. OP has no willpower. I ate nothing but plain white rice for 116 days while writing my novel. I lasted four months and he lasted all afternoon.

I got all my nutrients from an all natural tea, no sugar added. I would add a sprig of mint if I was feeling tired of rice, but it was really the tea, no sugar added, that got me through it.

    Keep updating us OP.

      >HURR I ATE RICE AND DRANK TEA FOR 116 DAYS WHILE WRITING MY NOVEL

You sound like a pretentious homosexual and I don't believe a word of anything you typed. You also probably don't have a fast food addiction like I do, and haven't been gorging on slop for years. It's easy to live off tea and rice when you're anorexic and eat 1,000 calories a day of bland trash.

addiction always starts with choice. you chose substances to deal with your life, the other anon chose a creative outlet. he could write utter shit and it'd still be better than your spite, inaction and base consumption. but then, leave it to victims to victimize others

If anything white rice would be a bad choice for an anorexic because the carbs would fill them up less than 1000 kcal of fiber and protein.

        >says story is bullshit
It's not. I never said I was published. But I sure did write a novel!

OP, you need to learn to cook simple meals. There's so many things I just cut up and bake, bake in a saucepan til my timer goes off then make a pan sauce, or even just boil. If that's too much for you, you'll have to get a boyfriend who can cook.

I mean, you're not even adding meat and veg to your rice. Bake a pork loin (no bones), dice it and add chicken bullion, whatever frozen veg you like (frozen peas, carrots, onions, etc) a bit of oil, soy/salt pepper to taste.

Toss the rest of the pork in the freezer, pork another day. The cooked pork can go directly from dice into another pot of rice while it cooks.

Pork loin takes the time it takes to put it in the pan, take it out a couple hours later. Nothing to stir, turn over, whatever. If that is too much your best bet is canned meat, microwave meals, or felatio.

It appears to just be dry seasoning so no, probably not. I'm still working through my mom's Hispanice rack and she died over a decade ago(I didn't actually start cooking competently enough to do it regularly until maybe 2 years ago). It does lose some taste but it's not really a huge deal.

Get the cheapest chorizo you can find. If you're making 4 cups of rice add 1lb crumbled up on top.
Change the chorizo proportion after if you want to be thriftier or if you need more flavorful.
Chorizo adds a TON of great flavor to rice, and you don't need to put any thought into it.

OP is going to get beriberi disease. At least eat a can of beans and take a multivitamin with your white rice. If you don't, you will become horribly malnourished and die. Not even joking.

    >Thiamine deficiency is a medical condition of low levels of thiamine (Vitamin B1).[1] A severe and chronic form is known as beriberi.[1][5] The two main types in adults are wet beriberi and dry beriberi.[1] Wet beriberi affects the cardiovascular system, resulting in a fast heart rate, shortness of breath, and leg swelling.[1] Dry beriberi affects the nervous system, resulting in numbness of the hands and feet, confusion, trouble moving the legs, and pain.[1] A form with loss of appetite and constipation may also occur.[3] Another type, acute beriberi, found mostly in babies, presents with loss of appetite, vomiting, lactic acidosis, changes in heart rate, and enlargement
Beriberi, vitamin B1 century in Southeast Asia, displaying characteristic difficulty with walking

    >Risk factors include a diet of mostly white rice, alcoholism, dialysis, chronic diarrhea, and taking high doses of diuretics.[1][4] In rare cases, it may be due to a genetic condition that results in difficulties absorbing thiamine found in food.[1] Wernicke encephalopathy and Korsakoff syndrome are forms of dry beriberi.[4] Diagnosis is based on symptoms, low levels of thiamine in the urine, high blood lactate, and improvement with thiamine
