I like it "burned" like that. Anything less and the dough doesn't fully turn to crust. May be different with that cardboard stuff at a gas station, but there's nothing wrong with good caramelization of cheese and toppings.

I get it from a nearby gas station from time to time. Decent and not too pricy for what it is, but the real key is to get them to make a whole pizza for you. At least at my place you can get a whole pizza, thin or thin crust with every single topping for 12 bucks. Just gotta call it in ahead of time.

as for any pizza thats been sitting, make sure it looks wet and not dry. overtime you'll be able to tell what's fresh and what's been sitting there for 2 hours.

The local gas station down the road from me actually has surprisingly cheesey pizza they sell on wednesday. its the only day of the week they sell them and they sell them for $1.25 a slice and the slices are ok in size. but since its fairly good cheese and ok pepperoni it tastes decent. ive gone and got 2-4 pieces at a time before and just ate that for lunch a few times. could be better but I dont mind since I love pizza. I have had absolute dogshit gas station pizza that was a rip off no matter what you paid for it.

The only good non-restaraunt pizza I had was at a liquor store which basically turned into a small pizza takeout spot. The rest are 711s selling their slop

Gas Station Pizza and Burgers have this weird thing to them, like I never had a BAD one but when it's good, it's really good. Like if you have an AM/PM near you, try their Burgers.

I was driving home late and didn't feel like a burger so I stopped at speedway and got a couple slices. My options were cheese and some mystery one, and it turned out to be hot fried chicken and pickles and it was actually pretty good.

years ago when I was driving down to florida from michigan I lived out of gas stations. I ate so many gas station nachos on that trip. Same with sandwiches like in your pic and nachos. Wasnt bad and was an oddly comfy moment in time in my life. Living out of my car, sleeping in it in semi truck stops, cleaning up with wipes in the bathroom, eating gas station food. I dont travel much now for what I do and so i think fondly back on those few weeks on the road driving to floria to go help a sadly non friend now out.
