The profit margin has also increased disproportionately. It could go down if people stopped buying, but if people are willing to pay more there's no sense in charging less.

      Anonymous

The Taco Bell within walking distance of my house sells them for $1.79 but the TB a five minute drive away has them for $1.29. Almost every item not part of a Taco Bell ad campaign is $0.20 - $0.50 more expensive at the nearby location. For combos it's even worse, with a Build Your Own Cravings Box $8.99 nearby but only $5.99 at the further one. Both are in the same city, so it can't be a tax thing, just greedy fricks running the one here.

Yep. Taco Bell sold off majority of their stores as Franchises. Taco Bell doesn't give a shit about raising prices because the food is cheap. So all their corporate stores are still fairly priced.

Really pathetic post by you. What went wrong in your life that you get joy out of making such comments? Plus the premise of your post is wrong, as evidenced by metro areas in Texas. If you read that post and/or went to the site, you'd also see that the variation in prices are often large within a small area. You basically posted "your dumb" and think you somehow gained social dominance over someone else in the process of demonstrating your own limited intelligence.
You should take some time to examine why you're the way you are because it's not healthy. You're not accomplishing anything other than spreading your unhappiness to strangers, which doesn't fix your own depression.

              >the premise of your post is wrong, as evidenced by metro areas in Texas
Can you explain how these supposed discrepancies are unrelated to socio-economic factors? I will admit that there is an element of free agents determining prices under market capitalism that isn't always based on data or, you know, wise decisions. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt that you understood that as a given, but if you want me to rephrase my initial claim for the dum dums I'd be happy to do so.

"Prices differ geographically based on socio-economic factors and the whims of franchise owners who make some pricing decisions based both on corporate data and their own understanding of what would be most economically beneficial to them in their local market, which of course is not always going to be correct."

              Is that better?

if anything this map just shows where all the libs and minorities live. theyll pay anything for fast food since they are both lazy and inept

              Anonymous

People eat a lot less fast food in those areas compared to rural red parts of the country. They can get away with charging more because they can do more numbers just based on the higher traffic that comes with being in a more densely populated area. It's typically going to be people coming from out of town who goes into a city and orders fast food (i.e., it's people coming from rural red areas who are willing to pay more for their fast food slop instead of having to pick an actual restaurant that isn't a familiar chain.

the worst offender of TB is the quesadillas. they are expensive as frick now but have less in them than a soft taco. if it wasnt for the sauce on them no one would ever get one

      >that shit exists solely for drunk people
Where the frick do you think you are? Everybody knows this; nobody thinks TB is fine dining or even real Mexican food. The point is that they removed all the best menu items, raised prices, then brought back some of the things that used to be decent - at twice the price and half the size. The point isn't that people can't afford $2. The point is that there's no point for companies like this to exist once they price themselves out of their cheap, late-night drunken garbage niche. The point isn't that spending $10 on a meal is unaffordable. The point is that there's no reason to spend $10 on Taco Bell because at that point you could spend the same amount of effort and just slightly more money to get a non-fast food meal.

Am I so old the double decker taco is now called a double stacker?

It doesn’t even make sense. A double stacked would mean there are at least four wrappings as a stack is a minimum of two.

If there is a good taco shop in the vicinity, no. But if the real deals are somehow even worse than TB, I'll go to TB.
I will only deal with food poisoning ONCE before permanently crossing a restaurant off of my list.

Inflation has made small businesses pass on the cost of credit card transactions to the customer. Cash users are now rewarded for frequenting small business. Forget Taco Hell and its ilk. The beast shot itself in the foot.

Yeah, last time I ordered through the Taco Bell app they tracked my location through my phone and acquired CCTV footage of me eating my 5-layer burrito in an empty parking lot at 2am and posted it on World Star Hip Hop. It would have completely ruined my life if any of that was true.

i tried the nachos but it was like if someone took 1/3 a can of refried beans plopped it on top and mixed the tiniest amount of beef in.

the chicken enchillada burrito was decent
double beef should just reset itself to being the new normal beef size after theyve shrinkflationed everything to the smallest possible size. we get it, the economy sucks

I don't eat taco bell anymore. I found a big black hair in my crunchwrap. Swore I would never eat there again. I decided to give them another chance and they forgot to put cheese and sour cream on my crunchwrap. I'm sure it's just the morons that work at this particular taco bell not the restaurant itself, but there are too many other options.
