The only hot girl I've personally been friends with was my work wife, somehow
About one a month, she'd want to go to this shithole for lunch (we ate lunch together everyday)
It was on Long Island where every pizza place is a small Italian restaurant
So you could drive 5 minutes in any direction and get better Italian food but she liked going there
    And it was always packed
Like, hey morons, you're surrounded by much better places than this shithole that microwaves the chicken parm

I imagine they send one chef in the entire joint or just a regional manager on a coach ticket to Italy for a week and call that classically trained in Italy.

I imagine they send one chef in the entire joint or just a regional manager on a coach ticket to Italy for a week and call that classically trained in Italy.

There used to be a program where after getting into a head cook position and 5 years they'd send people to Sicily for 2 weeks where they'd do a couple workshops and a photo-op, and then get a vacation for about 6 days, Olive Garden used to advertise it as a career perk.

My mom tried to get me to do that, going as far as to forge a resume when I was 16. No fricking idea what that shit was all about.

Mom was looking out. 5 years is a while for a shit gig tho. I assume she tried to expedite. I imagine one of these guys who get sent out probably clear like.. 80k? Maybe? Not terrible but not great after 5 years. Go learn a trade and make more.

Olive Garden is basically the Nickelback of restaurants, people hate it just because they think it makes them cool and to fit in with the crowd.

great salad but it’s not very hard, the dressing really carries it. soup were alright but nothing to write home about. breadsticks are good if you only have 2, any more than that and it becomes a hassle to chew. mains are decent for what they are but at that price point find a local joint or pay a little more and find a upscale italian place

    >God tier value
Lolno. With the $20 + tip I spend there for myself I can feed 5-6 people at home the same amount and comparable quality.

If I'm out of town and need a place to eat I always go to the Olive Garden. They are usually clean and are very consistent on their food and quality.
Is it great? No. But it's good enough and the prices are fair. Most time I get the soup and salad and don't even bother with an entree.
Oh and the important part, it is not full of pavement apes like Red Lobster.
I don't think anyone here hates it, it is what it is.

That's weird. I went to an authentic Italian restaurant in Arizona, I think it was called "mama louisas", and the lasanga there was the best thing I'd ever tasted in my whole life. Olive garden was like eating cardboard after that.

    They don't salt the pasta!

Who the frick wrote that garbage? You can't just dump a bunch of salt in pasta and hope it works out. There's nothing worse than over-salted pasta. The reason they don't tell you how much salt goes into pasta is because they don't tell you how much salt goes into anything because it depends. There are too many variables, that's why you salt to taste. Not to "Atlantic Ocean salty." If your food was actually salt water salty then it would just shoot through you digestive system in less than an hour because your body's chemical process for extracting water from the food (which is critical for digestion) simply wouldn't function.
