In general I don't really like drinking any stimulant unless its for a pick me up in the morning.

I also dont like drinking calories unless there's a nutritional aspect like green tea for the anti oxidants or vitamin aspect like orange juice.

Every morning I drink 24oz of orange juice to get 1350mg of potassium and my daily vitamin C.

            >I lift all day
            >I drink 24oz of oj in the morning
that's not how nutrition works, you're running on stored carbs for like the first hour of a workout and only then will you benefit on sipping on quick carbs like sucrose throughout. if you were serious you'd carry the OJ around in a bottle throughout whatever "lifting" you're doing.
If you're doing something low intensity like brickwork and have convinced yourself that's tough, you don't need that at all you fat frick, but if you're genuinely in the gym all day, sure, you'd still get minimal benefit, just load some dextrose in your workout shake, it'll work much better.
by the way, you realize that the vitamins and sugars in grocery store OJ is usually added back in? you're just drinking vitamin pills, unless you squeeze 24 oz worth of oranges every morning?

coffee has fiber, anti-oxidants and trace amounts of vitamins(actually quite a fair bit of nutrients just not much of your drink is coffee relative to water). filtered coffee is considered healthy and life-prolonging by every robust longitudinal study ever. OJ meanwhile is the opposite, it's incredibly unhealthy and loaded with sugar.

          Sugar is unhealthy because
          >*checks notes*
BECAUSE IT JUST HECKIN IS OKAY???

I walk and do lots of lifting and physical activity at my job. Also OJ has like 1300mg of potassium. I bet 90% of Culinaly doesn't even get that much because they don't eat their veggies.

Also I eat a light lunch.

They've been trying for decades to prove cofeve is dangerous or unhealthy or cariogenic or really anything. All they have found is it's actually pretty good for you.

Depends if it is real OJ, or shit you get in store that is basically orange sugar water with citric acid added.

im handgrinding 8g coffee, boiling it in a pot with 250ml of water and straining it through fabric into thermos

      >boiling it
you mean.. putting it in a turned off pot of water that's been brought to a boil, right? you're burning the coffee. immersion coffee is good but boiling your coffee is worse than boiling a steak

the perfect extraction takes around 2 to 4 minutes in boiling water, everyone is wasting perfectly good coffee by no infusing it in water correctly
also op pic not only costs 500usd, but also doesnt have a grinder!

the perfect extraction comes from letting it sit in boiled water in 2-as much as you like minutes. boiling continuously absolutely ruins your coffee, it's not about the degree of extraction at that point, it's about introducing undesirable tastes

it's got nothing to do with strength you mouthbreathing mongoloid, I mostly drink espresso, I promise you it is much "stronger" than you can get from immersion. you're ruining the beans, you're burning down the coffee without significantly greater extraction of coffee solubles, you're actually tasting LESS coffee this way.

Nope, that's a limitation of warmers.

Get a coffee machine that comes with an insulated carafe instead of glass.

Also you guys are wrong, just looked it up and you can get coffee makers that have adjustable temperatures for the warming plate.
Probably going to get the Ninja CFP101 because my wife loves iced coffee. She'll be happy with that.

        no

        Ok, I'll get a non-glass one then.

Right now, my wife buys aldi or Dunkin Donut brand pre-ground coffee, stores it in a non-airtight ceramic jar, preps it overnight and programs it to go off at 5:30 in the morning, then it sits in the warmer and burns for 3 hours before I get to drink it. Every morning I have the worst cup of coffee I've ever had in my life. I'm trying to figure out how to improve upon this without pissing off my wife and still allowing her the routine of prepping it at night and programming it to go off in the morning. If I pretend to break the existing coffee pot I can get us a new one so I'm looking to remove the burn factor and maybe switch us to one one with an automatic grinder so the grounds are more fresh.

          Anonymous

why wouldnt you just program it to go off at 8:30 instead
          or make two pots

            Anonymous

Because my wife wakes up at 6 and wants hot coffee.

Either way, fresh pot coffee tastes like ass too. That's why I'd like to move to a grind option.
