Any store backed by a big corporate entity will have generators. What's the date on the milk? I know Kroger policy is less than 10 days and it either goes to the food bank or the trash.

The date is like 6-10 I think

Well, then return it or use it as a cooking ingredient. I'm genetically inferior and cannot partake in the consumption of lactose, so I don't know what you can make with

Do cow breasts really just work like faucets sometimes? I thought you had to wring the milk out of them.

          >wring the milk out of them.
That's usually how it works. Apparently it can just leak if it's too full or there's an infection or something like that affecting it.

they are not legally allowed. anything that is cooled and has been out of the cooling for more than 2 hours must be destroyed, not fit for human consumption anymore. in reality it still is, but they are not allowed to sell any of it.

Maybe not fit for human consumption but certainly fit for lizard people and their ilk.

Huh? They sell milk unrefrigerated here. Do americans wash their milk so it loses the protective coating???

      Different pasteurization process.

Americans only kill the "harmful" bacteria, ie the kind that will get you sick, but leave less harmful bacteria that will just make the milk taste funny. They do this with less intense heat for a shorter period of time, to better preserve the flavor.

Europeans basically sterilize the milk, killing all the bacteria and rendering it shelf-stable. They also ruin the flavor.

This is a generalization, because you can buy raw milk in both America and Europe, as well as ultra pasteurized milk in America (they sell it in boxes for kids to drink).

Those are completely different types of milk.
The normal pasteurized milk that has to be cooled is usually sold as "fresh" milk.
What you are talking about is UHT milk, where it gets sterilized at over 100°C under pressure, after that it is stable of for at least half a year uncooled in the unopened container.

what if you refrigerated UHT milk? would it last for years?

literal decades. thats what they put in MREs. I dont know why UHT isn't standard in shartistan

Kroger sells uht milk and cream in quarts and pints. Though I believe there's been a shortage of it in my region lately.

cream and half and half are uht they just make it expire on very short terms.

aha that's why the milk at school always tasted like shit
          I never knew

for some bizarre reason they only had 1%, skim, and chocolate skim growing up. you'd think you would give give us whole milk because they're kids but i guess that 2g of fat will make them fat. the 20g of sugar they put in the chocolate milk is fine tho

yeah well they also showed us a food pyramid which told us to eat mostly bread and cereal and only a little bit of meat seafood and dairy
basically these people were whacked out of their minds

        >the bacteria in the milk is what gives it flavor
the frick are you on about anon. Raw milk tastes different because it's not homogenized. It still has a cream line. Pasteurization is essentially sterilization, low heat for a very long time to avoid curdling the milk and denaturing its proteins.

idk shit about euro milk but americlap milk tastes the same regardless until it starts to go sour, and when it happens it happens extremely quickly. You don't really get little bits of sour milk, you get chunks.
