The reason is that these animals are dirty. Pork has no sweat glands and eats anything.
Shellfish is bottom feeder.
Thus it is still unhealthy to eat them today, but not a sin.

Typical sinner - hating to learn the truth of this world because it leads to God. Ok though.

Typical christian, not understanding the Hebrew scripture at all and superimposing unrelated nonsense onto it and then acting holier than thou
Washing does work, the bugs float to the top. Also, if you have a lot of bugs in your rice, you should wipe out your cabinets or storage space. Food mites lay eggs that stay dormant until suitable food is in their space.
ck tells me I'm moronic because I thought living in a first world country(not america) meant there was no bug in the rice because it's already washed. apparently they can't wash away the eggs so it's inevitable, but I have still to this day never ever seen a bug in my rice. so no, I will not wash it
if I don't specify that it's not america you burgers will tell me it happens all the time and that I'm wrong and that it happens in first world countries too
I've washed every kinda grain I eat, from rice to beans to pearl barley and I've never found anything foreign, only a few darker colored beans that seemed off to me.
^Was gonna post something like this.
If I'm having rice it'll be from some microwave minute pouch.
Whatever savings you make in buying sacks of rice in bulk and cooking it yourself aren't worth the combination of added effort and guaranteed infestations.
moron
you vill eat ze bugs
Why? So you have clean bugs?
yeah dude bugs have germs on them why do you think it's not ok to eat bugs
The bible
The Bible also says it's not okay to eat pork or shellfish
It says that for israelites. As is the insect prohibition.

>eating mercury-laden seafood
Enjoy dying painfully
I wont wash rice, but ill wash and pick through beans and peas for stones and chunks of clay and dirt.
You gotta rehydrate beans anyway, of course you better put them in a separate bowl than the cooking pot and rinse them.
I literally made rice and picked 3 weevils outs while washing it about 30 mins ago. Wtf dude?
If i look at my rice and flour containers now I can see things moving about in there. I assume its still safe as long as cooked.
Free protein.
I learnt something valuable from this. Stopped eating rice.
I don't get why all the posts are joke posts.
This is fricking gross, and needs to end
washing won't work. filter maybe
>I don't get why all the posts are joke posts.
do you know where you are?
Washing does work, the bugs float to the top. Also, if you have a lot of bugs in your rice, you should wipe out your cabinets or storage space. Food mites lay eggs that stay dormant until suitable food is in their space.
>stay dormant until suitable food is in their space
How do they know?
The heat from the rice sanitizes the bug.
This, it's literally wasted protein if you throw them away

>literally can’t post about rice without America-obsessing
Damn
if I don't specify that it's not america you burgers will tell me it happens all the time and that I'm wrong and that it happens in first world countries too
Stop living in a shit hole country. Shit that doesn't happen even in burger land
The heat from the bugs cooks the rice
wtf i hate rice now
I like the bugs
I've washed every kinda grain I eat, from rice to beans to pearl barley and I've never found anything foreign, only a few darker colored beans that seemed off to me.
This is why I buy minute rice now

mmmm i love heating up precooked rice in plastic bags mmmm
Yes. I think you meant that to sound bad but it doesn't.
I wash it because it keeps it from spitting goop water and leaving a starchy mess when it boils.
free protein
Just fricking look at the mfg date.
Never ever buying ~year old rice...
I don’t give a frick. Extra protein
every rice in the world that has been stored for more than a few hours has weevils in it
Same old tired bait.
I water my plants with the washed rice water. Good for nutrients.
