Everything is equally easy to bake, just follow a recipe and you'll be fine

because even supermarket wonderwhite imitation sawdust bread is up to $5 a loaf, so ppl are unironically going to bakeries again to get actual quality bread for the same price
so bakeries are jacking up their prices now that there's more demand

only way to win is to just make your own

There was a nice bakery in my town (UK) but they shut, because
      >Energy costs rising
      >Material costs rising
      >Money the public is able to spare falling
      >All of the above taking a toll on the people running the business
      I miss it, bros.

One way to keep your frickups controlled is to weigh everything and not measure by volume
Get a scale accurate to grams for the big things like flour and butter and honey and milligram-accurate for the small things like yeast and salt

Not if you separate the whites/yolks, whip the whites, and fold in to the batter gently. That's literally a sponge cake. You've never had angel food cake, anon?

Do you want sweets or bread?

The easiest breads to make are probably quick breads, which don't use yeast to rise. Soda bread is a good start.

The easiest sweet thing you can make is probably the classic, chocolate chip cookies. It's pretty much impossible to get really really wrong. Oatmeal cookies and snickerdoodles are equally easy if that's your thing.

I've usually go for the brownies at my bakery and wanted to do that or fudge but you are right. I'll start with the cookies. It seems tried and true

pan breads, since you can just slop the recipe and you don't need to learn how to shape. Banana bread as mentioned, and also focaccia, sandwich loafs, and muffins. If you can make any of those, you can make some brownies. If you can't, you probably qualify for government moron gibs.

    Here's a couple of basics:

    Bread:
Activate half a packet of yeast in 200ml of warm water with a tsp of sugar. After it bubbles and rises, add 400g flour, 1 tsp salt and 3 tsp oil. Knead until smooth, rise until doubled, shape into loaf, put in cold oven, heat up to 180C and bake until the bottom sounds hollow when tapped.
Pro tip: When kneading pull the flour forward instead of pushing it down.

    Brownies:
Beat 250g of sugar with 150g of melted butter, add a couple of eggs and some vanilla, sieve in 80g flour and 80g cocoa, add a sprinkle of salt, mix until combined, fold in some chopped chocolate, bake in a preheated to 170C oven for 40-50 min until a toothpick comes out the center clean-ish (no chunks).

    Frick inflation and FRICK inflation.
