Why? It comes from the same farms. Says so right on the side of the gallon package. Tastes a little better than the UHT milk I have stored for when I can't get to town.

It used to be cheaper. Costco milk and eggs used to be cheaper than Walmart too. I think these places raised prices on staples and they think most people won't compare anyway because they like the brand or will assume it must be cheaper.

they still have cheap eggs, but last time i cracked a great value and i immediately knew is was vastly different from every other egg ive cracked. tasted like shit, and took longer to cook too. idk what kind of birds theyre using, or what theyre feeding them, but good frick the decline in quality is noticeable.

i couldn't crack them without getting a bunch of shell in with the egg and i felt like i was going senile.

It's natural for some to be thicker and others thinner. Shouldn't be an issue unless drunk.

They do. They cannot, by law, have a monopoly, so they cannot fix prices. So one store will charge $2 for milk and $1 for eggs; the next, $1 for milk and $2 for eggs.

It's like you don't understand anything about anything.

Near wholesale milk should always be cheaper than any retail. Especially offered from the same company dummy.

Even if Walmart made something a loss leader it should still be discounted more from their own special wholesale club.

Most people don't buy milk in bulk, and buying in bulk is why warehouse type stores can offer prices closer to wholesale. There's a million other factors why different things cost different amounts at different retailers, but that one should be pretty fricking obvious.

Uh... they both offer milk in one gallon sizes. That's not bulk. That will only last a day or two between me and gf.

I think at one time sams did get boxed milk. I dunno if it was cheaper. I do like the 90 pack of eggs at Sam's. Cheaper than anywhere and can last almost a whole week.

How are you eating 90 eggs in less than a week? How many eggs do you use per day?

Between the both of us we go through one of these from Sam's. 90pk. Good deal.

            >Uh... they both offer milk in one gallon sizes. That's not bulk.
That's literally my point. Costco/Sam's Club operate on a different business model than Walmart. They can sell certain items cheaper because they sell in bulk. Obviously that doesn't apply to everything, with milk being a perfect example due to its limited shelf life. Walmart is both a monopsony and a monopoly, which allows them to both purchase and sell many items at lower costs than their competitors without have to rely on selling in bulk warehouse style. If Costco sold milk in 12 gallon cases it would absolutely be cheaper than Walmart, but they don't because there's no demand for it. Of course they're still going to sell milk because the kind of people who regularly shop at Costco aren't usually going to swing over to Walmart after spending $800 just to save 25 cents.
