For the past three months I've been eating half an avocado a day because they're pretty cheap right now. This is the only major change to my lifestyle and I've noticed I've started feeling a little bit happy all the time for no good reason.

hate to agree. eating food makes me happier if i'm upset before eating, which i try to never do.
i enjoy cooking more than i do eating because like sleeping, i enjoy dreaming, but i hate wasting so much time being asleep.

Certain foods can make you happy. Whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, meats, and nuts will support your stomach bacteria which will positively affect mood, while dumping sugars and preservative/flavoring chemicals will erode that bacteria and cause a negative impact on your mood. Whole foods also support brain function and health which for obvious reasons impact make you feel good, because the alternative is feeling bad.
