      Good move.
Aldi here dropped the price of lamb leg roast to $7.45 AUD per kg. That's $2.22 USD per pound. Bet you've never seen lamb that cheap, anywhere in the world.
I'm gonna buy as much as possible.
I can't remember the last time anything actually came DOWN in price. Seems like we've had nothing but price rises since the covid bs.

Various Rana pasta sauces, including pesto, for $2.50 each. They're normally $6.99. The 'best by' date is over a month away so I'll easily use them all by then.

250 trashbags for $7. Not food, tho. Two boxes of trashbags got crushed somehow so they marked them 75% off. The bags are all perfectly fine.
If it must be good, Safeway gave me a free doughnut recently. : )

I got some wagyu sirloin extremely cheap, tbh it's already cheap compared to what it would be in other countries. People here are extremely cautious about use by dates so I have found quite a few good deals on red meat during my time.

1.79 pounds of slightly grey sirloin for 16.23 petrolbux

Pretty happy with it. Sliced one of the smaller steaks (oh yeah, the cuts are super fricked too, like 10 Oz and 2 3oz steaks) to fry some rice earlier. Gonna have the big boy for breakfast and the other small guy in ramen or some shit. Other pack is in the freezer till I use up all the white rotisserie chicken for sandwiches and turn the rest into soup for rice.

I just go shopping a few hours after the store opens and the meats are marked down, then plan the rest of my shopping around what was on sale. First batch of chicken hasn't made it out once I show up, but it's there when I get to the register. Life is pretty good.

OP here, what should I even do with this thing. I thought there were four steaks in the package but there were three and this one has got to be two pounds. Could cut it in half but if anyone has suggestions they’d be appreciated

dry on paper towels before cooking. less moisture, less water in the pan, better sear

Thank you for the tips, this is stuff I usually do with nice steaks and will do with the smaller ones. What I was looking for was more different ideas of what to do with it since it's so fricking big that it's definitely more than I can eat, I want to see if there are some more unique recipes to make with it that go along with how much meat is there. But it if should just be cooked like a regular steak then I'll do that and put the leftovers in a stir fry or something.
No rush, I'm freezing it all for now since I have a bunch of meals lined out for the next few days anyway.

don't cut it in half horizontally, thick steaks are a treasure, if you cut it keep it thick
the first third could be for slicing thinly, searing in oil for maybe 15 seconds, kaiser steak sandwich

I would trim some of that fat to make tallow, then probably cut the beef into chunks and freeze it.
Maybe you can make some biltong?

I love making jerky in my smoker but I usually make that out of discount carne asada since it's pre sliced, been meaning to make some but haven't seen it on sale in a while.
