idk. I loved Boddington's and Tetley's. Both mild bitters, they were perfect for autumn, can't find them in the US anymore at all.

I went to the local 'international show' once a few years ago, where the SEA monkeys dance around and the local tattooed whites pretend to appreciate 'real culture.' The local booze distributer was there selling cans of boddingtons... with the widget. The entire thing is that you decant it into a glass, right? Didn't think the widget worked if you just drank it out of the can.

All memes aside that looks like a nice hazy. The supermarket marked down a bunch of out of season beers, got a six packs of Bell's for $6.50 as well as Double dog for $8.50

Bells probably picked the worst time to attempt to make Oberon year round

How so? Also regular oberon is one of my favorite beers, excited to try eclipse

People just aren't drinking beer the same way they were even 3 years ago. Oberon was pretty popular even a decade ago and could've been one of their cores easily then. Now people couldn't care less and are switching back to macros or still chugging seltzers from what I see

They didn't. They just rebranded one of their other beers as an off-season Oberon to ride the brand awareness. It's just Bell's being corporate now.

Nice deal, they're probably just trying to get rid of old stock to make way for regular Oberon since it comes out in less than two weeks. Not excited to see all the stupid variants they'll come up with this year though.

Yeah when they get rid of the seasonal beers they always get marked down half off. But I agree Bell's is getting away from their classic styles for more nonsense beers

I will say I've noticed all the guys I know have switched to hard seltzers. I don't get the attraction personally but no one I know likes craft beer anymore, except the other people I see at the craft beer bars

I don't blame them. I'm getting older and beer does weigh on you different. Personally I chose to cut back but still enjoy decent stuff. Other folks who want to still get drunk just switched to lighter stuff that's easier on the body I guess

              >I'm getting older and beer does weigh on you different
This. In the past 20 years I've consumed enough craft beer to float a battleship. But I'm old now and I'm sick of everything being a 10% abv hop bomb. I don't want to immediately get blasted and have a hangover. I just want to sip on some Miller Lite while I play video games with my son.

The craft breweries around me have been making new beers that are in the 4.5-6% range instead of going 7%+, it's a nice change of pace. They're also branching out to styles that aren't as hop heavy like lagers and porters.

            >Bell's is getting away from their classic styles for more nonsense beers

Bell's has just been getting silly every since they got bought out. And I don't even mean that in the pretentious "ITS NOT THE SAME, MANNN" kind of way. They're doing stuff like putting out Hopslam in October for some reason, making Oberon run until mid-October, turning the Bohemian Pils into a Generic American Lager, doing nothing but variants of Two Hearted and Oberon, axing their homebrew side of the taproom, and putting out "Two Hearted is good old fashioned american beer, not trendy bullshit" ads everywhere.

In fact going out to Oberon Day last year was sort of depressing. For some reason they decided to go with a whole "Camp Oberon" theme and had employees dressing up as camp counselors, serving stuff like hot dogs and acting like a summer camp in the middle of March. All they served were fruited Oberon variants, like Mango Peach Oberon.

If you’re having wings, get light beer. Guinness would only go well with deep savory stuff, not spicy stuff.
