i've fed it to several women, all of whom said it was the best they've had.
but I would be silly to trust their judgement, even if they're obviously correct

no. it is a pasta salad full of pickled veggies, peppers, sundried tomatoes, olives (black AND green) and it's seasoned with local honey, butter and imported soy sauce
i provide feta on the side for people who want that too

    What's not to like?

Really good thing to make with scraps you need to use up from the fridge. Half can of corn, handful of cucumber, one small bell pepper etc...

Can't imagine it either tbh. I thought the whole idea of a pasta salad was to seem healthy. I live in a high income white area though so maybe that's why I've never even seen it.

Yeah, seriously. Pasta salad is done with a vinaigrette or just plain oil

Ruby Tuesday's had a mayo based pasta salad on their salad bar that was pretty good. The Amish make a macaroni salad that's mayonnaise based as well.

I like both the American type with the mayonnaise (so long as you savages don't sweeten the fricking thing) and both of ours. One is dressed with a vinaigrette and the other, the pasta is boiled in lemon water (or vinegar water) and simply dressed with olive oil.
I don't like the horrors done to pasta salad in Asia.

    >Rainbow rotini
    >Pan seared chicken breast. Cut it thin, brown it in butter+olive oil for max brown bits per bite. I use two large chicken breasts sliced in half to thin them out for a full box of pasta
    >Cut into cubes
    >Cut red bell pepper, sweet onion, celery, black olives to slightly smaller size than the chicken cubes, which should be about half the size of a rotini or about the size of a shell pasta if you choose to use shells which is another good choice
    >Actual mayo no fake shit, get a decent kind or make your own you don't need that much, I start with about 1/4 of a new jar for this amount of food
    >Mustard, yellow deli mustard seems to work the best for this. A couple generous squirts or maybe 2tbs to start and adjust from there works
    >Tablespoon or two of dill pickle brine
    >Stir it all together once the pasta and chicken have cooled

Salt and pepper to taste, I usually don't add any in to start because I season the chicken liberally and the pickle brine and olives will give it a lot of salt. Store bought pasta salad is fricking awful because they add so much mayo and shit that it's watery and gross. You should add JUST enough to coat all the ingredients, and then if you need to add a touch more the next day because the chicken and pasta will absorb a lot of it the first day if it doesn't all get eaten.

I made this for my friend who hated pasta salad and after two bites they keep asking me to make it now.

it's ok. I would eat it if it was around but I wouldn't go out of my way to make or purchase it. I'm not the biggest fan of cold pasta, I would rather just eat it as a normal salad without the pasta

began to eat and enjoy it after I turned 40 or so, never liked it as a kid and still picky about it. do not like most foods with vinegar or salad dressing, except pickles.yes, i only eat salads dry without any dressing

I enjoy the pasta salad I get from the grocer that is for the ahmish, same for the potato salad. It works as a nice little side for stuff, and I even like it on top of an actual lettuce-based salad. Just throw a bit on and it adds some eggs and carbs to the dish. I don't think I would ever eat it as a meal by itself. These types of "salads" scream side dish. Great for the summer when it is hot out and you want something cold as a side. So it's sort of a seasonal side dish for me. Great on the side with bbq meat.
