This, I refuse to repeat meals and I do have 45 minutes to cook everyday.

Will be making burrito bowls tomorrow as well as some roast chicken breasts with carrots and broccoli. Got a wedding coming up so gotta lose my gut.

I'm thinking of prepping that "overnight oats" thing for the whole week. Does anybody know if the containers need to be air tight for them to last 5 days? I'm thinking of prepping on Sunday for the whole workweek.

Pan seared chicken with bacon and mushrooms, and chopped cabbage in sesame dressing. It's not prepped, but I'm also making large helping Cantonese style eggs to have with them.

Don't you risk the meals starting to spoil by the time you hit day 4/5? Don't they also lose a lot flavor and become tougher to chew?

I used to worry about this and I would meal prep 3 meals at a time. Cook on Sunday and Wednesdays.
Now I make food for 5 days on Sunday, and I've never had a problem with taste, texture or food spoiling. I don't go beyond that, though.

I usually end up only making 4 meals and then either eating things I've frozen or takeout until the weekend again

      >Don't you risk the meals starting to spoil by the time you hit day 4/5?
I freeze whatever won't be eaten by day 3. Thaw it out overnight when I plan on eating it the next day. Only problem I've ever had is realizing I forgot my lunch halfway to work.

      >Don't they also lose a lot flavor and become tougher to chew?
Have you never had leftovers anon? It's literally just leftovers.

Who the frick can eat the same fricking thing 5 days in a row?

You meal prep however it works for you anon. 5 days? Make 5 meals. 3 days? Make 3 meals. The way I typically do it is that I cook things that can be used in a variety of ways, such as chicken, and portion them out into individual containers. That way I can make whatever I feel like making. If I want a stir fry, I have chicken for it and only have to dice up some veg and cook rice. If I want a wrap, I can just throw one together. If I want a quesadilla, I throw it together. So on and so forth. Things that I use literally every week (onions, bell peppers, broccoli, and carrots) I'll go ahead and dice up. By "meal prepping" this way I've done 90% of the actual work ahead of time. I've lost 70lbs and saved thousands of dollars this way. For anyone that struggles with eating out every meal, I suggest giving it a try.

ordering the Dominos perfect deal (2 med pizzas, parm bites, cinnemon sticks and a 2 liter) - gonna eat some and put the rest in the fridge. Bam. meals for the rest of the week. - in all seriousness I dont understand what kind of person feels the need to prep meals at all. A common argument is being "too busy" to cook each meal as it comes. That's bullshit. If i was too busy with work it would mean i made enough money to dine out or get delivery to fill the void. I often make enough for 2-3 meals when I make say, spaghetti - because I'm a single guy - but meal prep in the picture OP posted reminds me of institutionalized hospital food. I don't like uniform meals over and over. Don't you meal preppers get bored of the same shit over and over? Why do you actually do it? You can't be THAT busy. Also don't use clean up time as an excuse. I wash my stuff as I go, so by the time my meal is ready i might have one pot or a skillet that i throw in the sink to soak and clean as soon as i'm done. and i don't even have a dishwasher.

      >prepare two shitty ribeyes and pan sauce
      >eat both in one sitting instead of any vegetables
I fear my finally learning to cook is going to be the death of me.

I don't meal prep. I just doordash a 7/11 sub, a gatorade and a bag of chips to the house everyday. I've lost 16 pounds so far doing this. One meal a day.

bought two pig feet and some pork ribs, cooked delicious stock and saved portioned meat in the freezer

also bought some meaty beef ribs, made amazing stock and saved portioned meat in the freezer

later I'll use the meat in my blazing fast konjac noodle sloppa. Just heat up a pot, add some oil, fry off konjac spaghetti for a bit, add meat (can be still frozen since it's already cooked), deglaze with soy sauce, add tandoori masala, cream, cheese (optional) and serve. Takes like 5 minutes of active cooking time and is awesome in keto.

I find it more wasteful. I'll eat the meal probably one other time after that before I'm bored with it.
