I don't know if there's an official list but as a yuropoor I always thought American cuisine was literally everything. That's their superpower, they have anything and everything and often they do it better than the source.

You forgot the grits! You can't get more American than grits! EVERY RED-BLOODED AMERICAN SHOULD EAT GRITS THREE TIMES A DAY WHILE SINGING THE STAR-SPANGLED BANNER AND BRANDISHING THEIR PERSONAL ARSENAL!!!

    >Hot Dogs, Deep dish pizza and clam chowder?
Hot Dogs probably belong to Germany.

All things pizza do belong to us, from deep to thin crust abominations. BBQ is also very American, and there are regional differences/preferences. Then you have "soul food" stuff from the south like fried chicken, biscuits and gravy, etc.

Clam chowder, seafood chowder, lobster bisque, and crab cakes are all delightful American east coast things. We also have our own sushi roll.

Flyover states add casseroles to the mix. Everything else is imported.

      hash browns, eggs benedict, barbecue

Barbecue alone puts America in the top 10 for best food in the world.
Some people would disagree with me, but they'd be wrong.

I guess by "America" you mean the US.
In this case it's not surprising since that country does not have really have an indiginous population. The remaining groups of those are sprinkled over various reservations.
The US is a conglomerate of peoples from all over the world, in the beginning mostly Europe, who brought their cuisines with them and then localized and mixed them together.
So the dishes will be a variation of those found in other countries and there is no "real" US cuisine with the same long history as for example Italian or Greek.

America's cuisine, in my opinion, is rooted in the dishes made by immigrants who bought their own cultural dishes and adapted or improved it. From colonial periods to modern day, we have stuff that were invented in the US
    - The fast food repertoire( hotdogs, cheeseburgers, rootbeer)
    - Soul Food
    - Chinese food (ironic, but american chinese is a lot different than traditional and adapted to the american palette)
    - Turkey and thanksgiving dinner stuff
These are just the few that come to mind, but there also regional cuisine made in American states such as lobster rolls, deli sandwiches, clam chowder. Not to mention Latin-American dishes as well.
