I was in the hospital a few times last year, the food was great actually. everything was cooked to order and the menu was pretty big. you'd just use your bedside phone to order every meal. all free including the treatment because I'm on neetbux

I was in a psychiatric hospital for a while and the food was pretty good for the most part.

Did the meds in food improve taste that much?

This, Psyche Ward food is great. I kinda wish I could just spend a week or two in a nice psyche ward for a vacation. Bumpy socks, cute crazy girls you'll never see again to chat up in the day room, snacks, crosswords and movies

There were cute girls when I was admitted, but they were too crazy for my liking. The environment was very relaxing, barring the few instances psychosis and a probable pedo in the ward that some the men wanted to hurt after it was found out. I never built so many puzzles in my life before then. I even still have the bumpy socks in my sock rotation at home.

Did the meds in food improve taste that much?

I refused to take medication other than what I was already prescribed by my psychiatrist. Dosages for those medications were adjusted.

Hospital food in my c**t is fine, better than what I usually eat, and tasty IF you add the supplied salt satchet otherwise it is admittedly somewhat bland

This was also my experience. My conjecture is that they cut the sodium by design in the cooking process.

British and German food are in my top 20, you're just a tastelet who got filtered by mustard, pork, beer or some such thing.

Indeed. I bet most people who say British food is bad have never eaten any of it. It is the ultimate comfort food.

i suspect the problem is that people judge british food based on its lowest forms (working man/greasy spoon food) while judging other countries based on their best food

          >working man/greasy spoon food
The only good parts of British cuisine are the junk dishes. Also sweets and cheeses.
Most things mid-tier and up are just kind of bland. Yes, I'm including Sunday roast, full English, gammon etc
"Love me Gregg's. Simple as." is actually really fricking accurate.

Indeed. I bet most people who say British food is bad have never eaten any of it. It is the ultimate comfort food.

It's not bad in and of itself but when you consider that they've have quite a long time and tonnes of foreign influence to course correct the blandness, it becomes apparent that there's no saving Mrs. Shearsmith-Jones from her inability to properly herb, spice and season things.
Still, I'd rather eat bland, inoffensive food like the short list above than some other cuisines.

Dunno about them but a good:
          Sunday roast
          Full English
          Cottage pie
          Shepherds pie
          Lancashire hot pot
          Pork pie
          Ploughman's
General pies: mince beef and onion, steak and kidney
Yorkshire pudding, toad in the hole

I love pasties, pork pies, steak and kidney pies, all meat pies really. Mushy peas are good as a side dish. Their sausages are spiced differently than ours in America are, and they're really delicious. I think they use more white pepper in their bangers.
My aunt made blood sausage as part of our breakfast when my family visited her. That's a food that I really REALLY wish was easier to buy in the US.

Maybe it's cuz the Welsh and Scots are bros. Either that or anon is doing as I do, where I include everyone who speaks English primarily as Anglo. Aussies, Jamaicans and Irish are all Anglos to me.
My Irish friend gets upset about me saying that but he doesn't even speak Irish so yeah: he's an Anglo.

Because that's what British should mean but racist immigrationalists think literally everybody else on the planet should be more deserving of being called that as well so clarification is needed these days.

All three of those are made by people with clean hands. Indian food isn’t made with clean hands and can get very gross quickly. So gotta go with Indian food since it isn’t sanitary.

so airplane food. Not to do a seinfeld stand up routine but they take absolutely NO care with anything on a plane from comfort to the films. Airplanes are basically glorified flying buses with unneeded security.

The only airplane "food" I've had are the plastic wrapped sample packs of trash. Hospitals have actual food at times and the brits made due with what they had so points for effort.

airline food varies a lot, and can be pretty good if you don't get the cheapest option
Delta's food was truly grim the last time I used them for long haul, but I suppose it was supporting NJ's chemical industry...

Airplane and British food can be done right
There is no helping hospital food. It's designed to be bland and easily digestible
