Baked mac and cheese is American.

It's an Ancient Roman recipe modernized by the French and adapted with cheddar in the early years of the US
But that doesn't make it less of an American dish because of how we've adapted it after Thomas Jefferson made it ours

        >Dined at the President's – ... Dinner not as elegant as when we dined before. [Among other dishes] a pie called macaroni, which appeared to be a rich crust filled with the strillions of onions, or shallots, which I took it to be, tasted very strong, and not agreeable. Mr. Lewis told me there were none in it; it was an Italian dish, and what appeared like onions was made of flour and butter, with a particularly strong liquor mixed with them

Maybe back when you were under Roman rule
Would not be recognizable to the kind in OP's pic
That is the American style developed in the US after Thomas Jefferson imported semolina flour and pasta machines from France using French recipes he adapted for production in America
This is extremely well-documented and bongs claim to have invented lasagna, too, so there's a really big red flag whenever you claim to have invented any pasta dish
You can't even make a bolognese right

Steak pie is excellent. No clue why americans dont have anything equivalent.
And dont say chicken pot pie. The sauce is completely different.

Americans do encase their steak in flour, just in a batter form instead of dough form. See chicken-fried steak.
