Take her out for a nice meal. She cares more that you're doing well enough to treat her than anything you're able to make. You're not 6.

Nah she'd much prefer a home cooked meal. We go out enough.

This IS a cooking board. Going out to eat is boring.

This is the food and cooking board. OP didn't ask a cooking question. OP asked what they should make for their mom for Mother's Day. Nobody knows your mom, where you live, or your financial situation or cooking ability. Saying to take her out instead of cooking was probably the closest thing to an on-topic reply in this entire thread. And the idea that going out to eat is boring says more about you than anyone else. I wasn't suggesting taking he to McDonald's. If you know what your mom likes, find a place you think she'll love but wouldn't usually splurge on herself. It's less stress, no cleanup, and just more time to spend together.

typically people prefer personalized homemade gifts from people they love, sorry your mom doesnt like you

No. People like gifts that show thought and consideration. Everybody likes cash, but that's a terrible gift because there's no thought behind it. Taking someone out for a nice meal at a place you think they'd enjoy is much more thoughtful, special, and memorable than just having another meal at home (whether your home or theirs).

Just say no one in your family knows how to cook well my guy.

This really just sounds like poorgay cope, which was the original point. When you're a kid you throw together a shitty breakfast in bed or whatever and it's cute. But once you get older you realize your mom would actually prefer to enjoy herself and relax, instead of having to pretend that you cooking for her once a year is some amazing thing. Again, the only reason you think a home cooked meal is better than going out to a good restaurant is because you're poor. That's it. That's the only reason people on Culinaly ever shit on restaurants, and pretend they're somehow better cooks than people who do it for a living. (I cooked professionally for years, btw. You obviously didn't, which means you are in no position to criticize my cooking ability.)

did you parents discarded you when you were 18?

You need to be less obvious if you're going to samegay. Like this,

I'm going to get all the fixings for burgers and bike it to her house. She will like that much more than eating out. Weather permitting we can eat outside.

If you think that's what your mom would like most then do that. That's really all anyone here can tell you.

Depends on your mom, but mine always loved breakfast food and chili.
