the body of law of the US explicitly lays down harsh sentences for willful food tampering and fricking with people's food, feeding inmates an inedible brick designed to make you thirstier, making the base thing required to fuel your body into a daily ordeal is cruel and unusual punishment

we send them to one of our off-shore deathcamp islands in the middle of the pacific until we eventually get enough to just load em up on a C130 and fly them back to their shithole.

We have that problem here in the USA also but it's also because biden/kamela wants illegals in to get dependent voters for themselves. I couldn't make this shit up from the USA government if I tried. If we wanted to look into this shit it would go back to the end of WW II and beyond. I don't want to deal with citations and stuff at 3am here on a Saturday morn.
There are reasons not clearly made public as to why immigration stuff and constitutional stuff is not being enforced, it's kind of public if you read between the lines, dependent voters and taxes.

Having them birth future loyal voters is part of it but it's also that Congressional representation is based on total population in an area, not the number of voting age legal citizens. Add millions of illegals to a state and you can get more members of Congress during reapportionment. And when the district lines are drawn, that's also based on gross population, not the number of citizens, so those additional districts will cover areas full of illegal where the voters tend to be family of the illegals, so they elect members of Congress who go along with having weak borders and policies like 'catch and release'.
But to bring this back to food, there's also lots of pressure from agribusiness for low paid labor that has few legal recourse when treated poorly and who are unable to unionize. Illegals are the ideal agricultural workers who can be paid under the table and will work in conditions that would get the company reported and fined if they subjected legal residents to them.

It's not just agribusiness either. I grew up in Southern California and it's damn near impossible to get an entry-level job as a white person. Even when stuff is above board, companies prefer to hire recent immigrants or first gen Americans because they're willing to work for lower wages and put up with worse working conditions, wage theft and other company frickery and so on. (Not to mention a ton of those business themselves are immigrant-owned now, and will only hire their own kind, which is blatantly discriminatory but nobody cares when it's not white people doing it.)

A few cities allow non-citizens to vote in local elections.
I figures to Americans would support voter ID laws if waves of thousands of Chinese, Cubans, Iranians, and Russians arrived in NYC or San Francisco and started to publicly supporting Republican candidates.

I should present this idea to my store manager at McDonald's, and she can send it up the chain. If we can convince high school kids to work as unpaid interns, we could make some serious coin.

I worked for free as an unpaid intern by literally living in the office. I didn't have a home to go home to because I couldn't pay any bills. I did this for 3 years before they hired me as an employee and started paying me $9 an hour. This was a lot of money back in 2016.

No, there is an actual difference. You also act like every psyche ward patient gets meds that zone you out. You typically get normal meds that a psychiatrist would give you, the thing is, you're just serving a prison sentence because you were to fricked up to control yourself at the time typically. In order to get drugs that make you "a zombie" you have to be actively disruptive in the psyche ward and make the staff think you might be an actual problem.

To be real with you, the vast majority of people in there were people that seriously just needed someone to talk to. Sometimes life is a bit to rough and you sadly don't have anyone there to help, and a lot of the people in the psyche ward were people that fit that description. There was even a guy in there that was just flat out pretending to be a bit wacked out just so he wouldn't be homeless.

However, their sandwiches were terrible! No condiments at all, incredibly dry.
I didn't try their coffee because I was completely psychotic and couldn't sleep a wink until I passed out from exhaustion after a few days.

nta but im guessing you were given Quetiapine? its given to most people in psych wards as a sleeping med

I was alcohol-free for about 1&1/4 years, but I've since relapsed, been convicted of DUI, and am still drinking at this very moment.
                I am

I only had to serve one day but I got a couple baloney sandwiches (just bread, baloney, and mustard), some off-brand koolaid, and some shitty spice cake thing.

                .

It's humiliating. I had lost like 40lbs since I stopped drinking and started exercising regularly, but I've gained like half of that weight back at this point.

As part of my DUI sentencing I have to attend group counseling for basically the rest of this year, so I hope that will help me quit again.

I just want to say that I didn't hurt anyone when I was DUI. I was just speeding down an empty street in the middle of the night. There was no property damage, and the only human suffering involved was that those handcuffs were so damn tight I couldn't feel my thumbs for a couple days.

My friend got totally fricked with a DUI charge the other day. He bought his dream car last year and then ended up with it in the shop for 6 months while fighting the warranty company and dealer over a bad transmission, FINALLY got it fixed and back, and then less than a week later, while he was driving home from the store, some Arab in a $100k 8-series blew through a red light at twice the speed limit and wrecked my friend's car. My friend was so upset he just sat down on the curb, cracked open the bottle he'd just bought, and started drinking, and then the cops showed up and breathalyzed him on the spot despite, he blew over the limit because he still had alcohol in his mouth, and and arrested him. To add insult to injury it was a Friday night, the cops fricked up and clicked the "felony" button in the system even though he's only charged with a misdemeanor, and this resulted in them being unable to release him until he could see a judge on Tuesday.

My father would often offer me alcohol on holidays or family get-togethers as I was growing up, but I always refused until I was 21 years old and could legally buy my own stuff.
I enjoyed tasting different craft beers and different kinds of liquor (for me it's imperial stouts and wienertails with rum or gin)
but I almost immediately became an excessive drinker
my 21st birthday was celebrated with a battery of shots of tequila (that my dad kept in the freezer)

Even now, my dad still can't accept that I can't handle the choice of how much to drink.
He'll say to me: "Do you really think you should drink that much?"
And I'll say: "No, I probably shouldn't drink at all..."
But he'll say "That's not what I mean."

IDK man I'm just all or nothing with everything.
I find a band I like and I put their latest album on loop until I wish it was on mute.
I find a videogame I like to play and I play it everyday until I'm sick of it.
I find a drug I like and I just fricking take more and more until I pass out.
I get to buy THC gummies? OK sure dude I'll take them until I go insane!
I used to take acid trips like 500+ ug at a time.

This old man, a grizzly biker looking dude came over to me and said "nice" and gave me a full sheet of LSD. When I got home, I shared it with some friends and it was the best acid I've ever had

most "acid" these days is actually other very similar chemicals that are easier and cheaper to produce. LSD isn't like meth, you can't make it in 30 minutes using common tools and ingredients, it pretty much requires chemistry knowledge and a proper chem lab. the experience is similar, but not the same. Much like the "mushroom chocolates" they sell in places where mushrooms aren't legal, it's similar but there's something missing.

not all. if you're suicidal then maybe stay away from such drugs. they might be helpful, but they might not be. and anyway, at least in the US you're not legally responsible for anything that gets sent to you unless you sign for it, or they can prove that you ordered it. Otherwise you can just say "I didn't ask for this" and you're good.

well this is controversial advice, but if you feel like that and you're set on trying such drugs, I'd recommend mushrooms (psilocybin) far more than LSD. get some, go out into the wilderness, and take a reasonable amount. I've tried various anti-depressants throughout my life, but none were even 1/8 as effective as shrooms. Don't frick around with opiods or alcohol, they make you feel better while they last but they make you feel worse the rest of the time.

i might actually try it. its technically a treatment for depression here, but maybe. Im on my 3rd antidepressant now, and apparently theres just classes of them i shouldnt take because im susceptible to certain side effects. though i do remember hearing they dont work if youre on certain antidepressants?

yeah, many mood-altering drugs prevent or alter the effects of psilocybin. I don't know you well enough to give you proper advice, but know that there are many things you should try before you decide on suicide.

Never let facts get in the way of a good story or b***h session. People often know what they're saying is a half truth but they're more concerned with what they get from saying it than if it is factual or not. Whining about "the system" is social currency for university kids so it doesn't matter if they understand large food distributors or not, they'll still take advantage of the general complaints about cafeteria food to increase their own social cred a tiny bit.

i think its because some prisons have up to 3000 immates and its the logistics of feeding 3000 motherfuuckers 3 meals a day, you can probably afford to give them enough potatoes and vegetables but not o prepare them

Considering how satiating they are, a diet consisting mostly of potatoes, oatmeal, salt, and tofu would be excellent alternatives to more expensive options. Prison isn't supposed to be a happy place where 5 Star Michelin Tire sous chefs are preparing each individual meal.

As much as prisoners complain about how unhealthy the food is, fact of the matter is that the majority of the prison population are Black folk who actually love eating hotdogs and mechanically separated chicken for every meal. If you were still in highschool when Michelle Obama fricked over public school systems, then you'd be familiar with it. When I was arrested over an assault charge a bit over a decade ago back in Washington State, the barely edible slop I was given was just like what was served in my old highschool cafeteria. Grim realization set in. I always thought the shit they fed us kids back then was bad, but I didn't know it was literally just prison food.
Jail food was even worse though. That shit was actually inedible. Straight up spoiled, rotten, moldy luke-warm mush on a tray.
So yeah, if you have kids, join them for cafeteria lunch sometime if you want to try it for yourself. You don't even need to commit a crime to torture yourself with pig slop.
I remember us kids always joking about how the school pizza was just cardboard, ketchup and rubber, then one day a friend of mine took the "cheese" off his pizza, rolled it up into a ball, and tossed it on the ground. The fricking thing BOUNCED.

Heavily depends on where you are and whether it is Federal or State. Generally it is better in Federal, but it still varies widely. You will probably find at least one day where pretty much everyone goes and where you can easily trade food for canteen. An interesting thing to try to piece together, but you'd have to use anecdotal evidence from random people and a lot of people are known to both under and over exaggerate.

Amphetamine were also completely normalized in the 30's. They were over-the-counter and even Einstein was a daily user. You're out of touch with any semblance of grounded perspective.

They still kinda are, Adderall is the obvious example and a bunch of other prescription psychiatric have them as well afaik. On the non-legal side I'd bet 99% of people who do MDMA have no idea the "MA" stands for "methamphetamine" too.

                no source for original claim
The original claim was that drugs are for morale.

If the general morale was good they wouldn't need drugs, ergo morale was bad ergo society was not good

                >If the general morale was good they wouldn't need drugs
                So, you got a source?

The drugs were not recreational and we didn't even know they were "bad" drugs at that point, all we knew is that they kept people awake and made them hyperaware of their surroundings.
And they were only meant to be used during emergencies (aka, life or death situations) under the guidance and order of a higher up.

Pretty bad, also they restrict the amount of protein you get so you can't build muscle without care packages/spending in the commissary.

Things need to be bland so the intolerant racist inmates don't get triggered.

    D
Worked as a CO for a state prison and Sheriff's Deputy ama

Food varied based on county, state, or fed. State had the best imo, just bland due to dietary reasons. My state had inmates working kitchen duty with them mostly cooking things fresh off the truck with meals like eggs, grits, and toast for breakfast. Lunch was maybe hotdogs or chicken sandwiches that were terrible (on the yard it was shouted around if they had "chicken Patty" on the line) Dinner would be maybe be something like pasta or sometimes baked chicken

County detention you got what you got. Enjoy your ham and cheese
