Get a big pork loin (.99 a lb) cut it up into 1 lb portions and freezer seal it if you gave one or just use freezer bags. Rub down the pork with mustard, pepper, salt, spices ect. Roast it to temp, let it cool. Wala cheap roast pork.

Pb and j is the obvious answer. You could also do egg/tuna salad or just cook up a whole chicken, break it down, and store it in the fridge, but honestly store brand deli meats are super cheap, like $4 a lb sometimes. Don't eat bologna, it's cheap but not worth it.

    Ketchup sandwiches.
Or just chew the crust off slices of bread and squeeze them in your hand. Wrap another slice of bread around the compressed doughball, squeeze, repeat till you have a bread ball as big as a handfruit. It's actually extremely tasty, but does not qualify as a sandwich.

                Anonymous

                Because I bought the land.

Because the only tax we should have is a tax on whatever the value of the land was before it was developed.

I pay my fair share in taxes on all my acreage. I get alot of agricultural exemptions though. I only have 340 acres that's not alot when some have 2,300,000 acres.

                Anonymous

We should eliminate all taxes other than a tax on the value of undeveloped land, regardless of what improvements are made to it by anyone, and they should be much higher than they are now. However, you're right, in that the rate should increase exponentially the more land you own, the point where owning vast amounts of land becomes economically unfeasible.

                Anonymous

                >Increase exponentially

Uh no. As long as they are good stewards of the land I don't mind if people own alot of land. I want to own more land someday. I have 340 acres plus 6 acres of hunting land in another state that isn't worth much at all.

I WISH I could have around a thousand acres in two different states and maybe a few hundred in Wyoming for a cabin that wouldn't need much upkeep but I shouldn't pay more just BECAUSE.

I get agricultural zoned land taxed at a cheaper rate and a small homestead exemption.

Frick... don't make it harder for people like myself to own more land.

Ever play Monopoly? That's what we have IRL with land ownership, except it's a few hundred people instead of just one person. The effect is the same, and the only way to stop from happening is a Georgist LVT

Land monopolies don't tend to last long, specially when it's easy for urbanites to simply vote all the land away, and rural land owners like this are one of the weakest voting groups in the nation.

And land confiscation is more common than ever before, if we ignore natives, and increasing quickly.

A few decades ago, it'd be unthinkable to forcibly buy someone's land because they own too much and it's idle, but today, it's already a reality.

Lovely land, what do you grow or use it for? I only have 50 acres but leave most of it for woods so no tax breaks there except for the bit we let a Mennonite grow cow corn but whatever.

Alright I guess I'll respond. I have let people grow soybean or corn depending on what's profitable but normally we just hay. Too dark to show you other land area or any of my buildings.

Nah, I hate deer. Worthless things that destroy the forest by preventing new growth, get hit by cars and spread diseases. I cull them sometimes and leave them where they lay. I also let a few hunters hunt on my property and they get them butchered. Nah, I don't like the taste much. I've made a beef/deer bologna with cheese once and it was acceptable. Sorry but I just hate those frickers.

I'm not going to do anything to hurt more farmers/landowners they already pay alot as it is and any discounts/subsidies they get is because they produce or use the land right which benefits us all. If you got money, there are tons and tons of acreage in the heartland and everywhere really.

What your issue is, is that you can't afford it. You want land to be more affordable. That's up to the market. Free market is the best system yet.

I'm sorry you guys don't have land, but I am in your situation as well, I want to get more land. I am just a little ahead of you atm. Start small and work up.

DNR has a little pod tester thing in the stream that they come out and check yearly. They keep tabs on the water quality/runoff.

Other than that, nobody cares. I can blow away 40 a year and it might make the tinniest dent. I invite all hunters to take as much as they want and set up stands/blinds on my land. They released bears again a few years ago and they probably will end up getting shot. Lol. Not by me though.
