Same--when I realized most "normal" western diet's are a result of advertising and not tradition or nutritional needs I completely changed my attitude towards breaking the fast.

It's pretty damn good, but crunchy as a bastard, heavy and expensive. Mixing it with some vanilla yogurt is a nice little dessert-treat.

        >Mixing it with some vanilla yogurt
I do that with granola so this sounds up my lane.

They're called Grape Nuts because they look like grape seeds. Add more milk than you think you need and let them soak for a minute.

        Will do.

I get digital coupons for cereal all the time. I got a 7 boxes of GrainBerry brand Cheerios-alike for 49¢ each with digital coupons. They're usually $5-$7/box. Look into that shit.
I don't usually buy cereal unless I can get it super cheap.

I didn't know this. Do you know where or how someone can sign up for these digital coupon emails? I'm afraid of giving my email to scammers though. Thanks anon.

            I just used a 10minutemail.
And each store will have its own digital coupons, often through an app but also accessible through the website itself.
And there's free shit. Acme, a local banner for Safeway in the Northeastern US (it's nearly 2am and I was woken up by raccoons) recently gave me a free "young coconut drink" which is just a coconut with a straw drilled into it so you can drink the still-sweet juice. It was delicious, btw. Weird thing to give me for free in the dead of winter.

Where can I get cereal at reasonable prices these days? it's so incredibly expensive, and the boxes of most cereal brands I have seen are so light in weight. I would eat cereal very often if it wasn't such an awful bad deal. I miss the early 2000's when a box of cherios the size of a whale was like two dollars.

grape nuts and oatmeal are probably the most cost effective cereals. Perfect if you can withstand the windstorm out of your ass at approximately 1-2 PM

I guess when you never eat oats or anything healthy your whole life (I'm assuming) and you eat one thing, the body is like "WTF IS THIS?" and shits like crazy. Unless it's a health issue, then that's understandable.

I try to eat oats every single day and I shit like a healthy horse.

Now get this, I eat rolled oats, and put blackstrap molasses, brewers yeast (anthonys amazon), and bobs red mill wheat germ too(amazon, good fricking luck finding this in stores). Just a little of each, mostly oats, and maybe with almond or soy milk. (or home made oat milk by blending oats and water) or you can find soy milk powder on amazon.

              you bet.
In my area, Aldis has a big box of Frosted shredded wheat bites for $1.99. Krogers is usually a dollar more and it just goes up from there.
One caveat: I've noticed that different Aldis stock different selections depending on the area they are. Check online first for all the Aldis in your area, and go to the one in the more affluent area. It seems counter-intuitive, but at least in my area,(there are 2,) and the one in the lower tax bracket area has considerably worse selection. The store is dirtier too, probably due to the hiring pool.
Most of the Aldis I've been in all over my side of the country have both their store brand, Millville, and the big brands.(often made in the same factory.
              https://www.thedailymeal.com/1358994/brand-behind-aldi-millville-cereal/
I don't eat a lot of cereal, as I said, but the ones I have are comparable, if not better as far as the store brand goes--Read the labels and weights anyway--The big name brands often have nasty surprises in them.

Those are practically the Samoas of breakfast cereals. add a drizzle of smuckers carmel and chocolate fudge and you're there.
      ***!!WARNING!!***
eating more than one box like this a year WILL turn you into a lardass!!
For me, It's Aldis frosted shredded wheat bites, or Brown sugar oat squares--but I eat cereal maybe 5X a year at most.
It's really not great for you.

I like grapenuts a lot. No sugar, tastes pretty good. For me the biggest problem is that it causes bad gas and sits in my stomach like a rock.

Right now my favorite is total (relatively low sugar compared to other cereals, easier for my body to digest). If I don't give a frick about sugar for a day I opt for reese's puffs or honey bunches of oats

I can't drink milk but I really enjoyed Raisin Bran at an open air beach house in the summers of my youth. I would sit on a stool by myself at the kitchen bar in a clean white t-shirt, peel open and sip a small can pineapple juice, and stare at the cartoon sun on the famous dawn purple box, and beyond the cereal box the sun would rise and glitter across the tide pools where I explored for hours observing horseshoe crabs, urchins and cupping little fish. Raisin Bran used to have prizes, but tasteful prizes, like a frosty front sided sticker. The raisins themselves looked like star clusters from the previous evening, the raisins would make me slightly tired if I focused too long on them. When I was finished I would fill in the little game on the box, and by then everyone else was up like the sun, stretching, smiling, yawning. That's when I was asked if I wanted a short glass of orange juice, and I said yes everytime until I grew up and became neet.
