Vorarlberg actually tried to join Switzerland after WWI but it sadly failed despite having massive popular support as the swiss government feared Vorarlberg joining would break the delicate confessional balance between protestants and catholics.

It's actually slowly dying out together with our old and not particularly noteworthy fast food "culture".
It's eastern Germans. They had nothing because of communism so the breaded sausage instead of meat and served it with watered down ketchup.
