Tully's Good Times. There's a few of them out there.

Not a chain but almost certainly better than chain restaurants like TGI Fridays or Applebee's. Thank you for breaking the rules to nip this thread in the bud.

      >the best tenders?
The best tenders are covered in sausage gravy

      That's a good idea.

      >what is an oven?
      >what is an air fryer?

The air fryer will work but can you get the same crisp from oven baked tenders? I grill chicken all the time and prefer that to fried chicken but the two are a wholly different experience.

Too-rapid and too-leveraged expansion in the late 90s. Then 9/11 happened and they couldn't pay the bills.

How did they stack up to applebees and chllis food, bar wise etc...

            Anonymous

Very similar. Bennigans was good for what it was --a decent meal for a reasonable price. Good bar. When they went breasts-up, they had a program where they had 100 different beers, 20 or 30 on tap. Then the company got greedy, started opening a new unit every month. Too much debt, too fast. They were on a very thin margin when 9/11 hit and sales dried up.

I didn't grow up socializing with children my own age so I have extreme nostalgia for a America I never experienced. Although to a certain extent my childhood existed in a Norman Rockwell Esq New England community so I could larp as being a kid in the 1970's. I'm not sure I want to live to be 89 like my grandfather was, at least if current trends in our culture change fast and hard.

Unironically Culvers. They fresh them fresh to order, and exist somewhere between super processed and just a straight up fried piece of chicken meat. Has that nostalgic texture profile of chicken nuggets you loved as a kid, and still taste juicy and super fresh.
