One of my friends eats there a couple of times a month because his grandparents used to take him there to eat. I've never been very impressed with the place but I think he finds it comfy as it reminds me of this departed grandma and grandpa.
My fat white trash friend. TJ is a disgusting example of a stereotypical American. He just needs to be a mutt vs the pollack he is. Think he kept the one near Virginia Tech open single handed
Only one L in the slur polack, anon. As there is only one L in the word Poland. Which the term is derived from. I think you might be the white trash friend or worse.
One less than a mile from me. It's a LJS/Taco bell combined restaurant. Not sure how they figure out which is doing better but I've never been to either of them because there's a grocery store next to them that fries fish that you buy there at no cost.
I've never had it. I did work a summer job at a Captain D's during the sweltering summer of 02', and their food was pretty good, I assume it's the same shit.
It's hard to say who eats there now, back when I worked at Captain D's America was still mostly white, I assume a lot of naggers and boomers of all colors make up most of the customers now.
I used to get LJS's in the late 2000s before they closed all the locations near me. Now I get my fried clams/chowder/fish dicks from a joint that's been around since the 1930s.
There's a combination Taco Bell / Long John Silvers near me. They have the LJS condiments out alongside the TB ones and I randomly snagged a couple of vinegar packets (even though I was there for TB) because I never buy vinegar.
The kind of people that homeschool their kids, midwesterners, and people that like seafood but have no good taste in it.
I've never seen the point of going there. The menu's alright, but for what I'm paying I can get my own seafood and make it better. I don't want the fast food of seafood. It's okay as a once off thing or if you wanna take your kids out somewhere to eat that isn't pure goyslop.
my mom has been complaining about the price of a family meal here since before the pandemic but she still breaks down and gets it every few months. i love the chicken planks and the fries actually aren't bad with our fancy new toaster convection oven. still expensive for what it is though. i might have to try my hand at making a wet batter fry chicken plank. every time i make my own fried chicken it's amazing but the mess is insane as well.
I’ve eaten fresh seafood on both coasts in multiple states where you can smell the seawater.
This isn’t really bad. It’s even well sourced because when I was stuck in flyover land I was craving fried seafood and looked at their website, it’s actually all tracked and sourced. Much better so than the Asian ran seafood places in California or Washington.
Loved this place as a kid, still think it's tasty to this day, just pricey.
But the last time I went there, two weeks ago I got a respiratory infection that same night, and am still sick with a slight cold.
Dunno what happened but it will probably be a while before i return there for my fish and chips cravings.
I used to really like this place. It's fast food, so of course it's not high quality, but fried fish is a bit of a change of pace from other fast food joints and it was pretty decent.
They've gone to shit in the past few years though.
Haven't been to one in 15 years. My dad would take me when I was younger.
Then the prices increased to equal to or more than the average sit-down restaurant, and their quality dropped in my area. Then two shut down due to everyone getting repeated food poisoning and the locations failing inspection. I have no idea how the last location stays open. Every time I drive by the place is empty.
boomers
le moi
I'd at least try it if there was one near me.
It’s the only seafood option for most flyover states.
False - Red Lobster exists
Indiana has the 2nd largest shrimp hatchery in America you uneducated fucking pleb. My shrimp Alfredo is fresher than yours coastnagger
We used to have Captain Ds until the only one near me burned to the ground. Plenty of local seafood restaurants though.

Where else am I supposed to get fried clams without the fuss of a restaurant
This. They're too expensive now though.
That figures. I actually haven't been there in 10 years. But I used to live close to one and crushed many orders of fried clams in my day

I would if they had one within 300 miles from where I live.
I live in Utah
I'm a 43 year old boomer
I used to go with my mom as a kid in the 90's. I loved the shrimp and the fries were delicious. Oh, and the coleslaw.
The poor man's Legal Sea Foods.

Any boomers or oldfags remember this place?
Oh my gosh oh my gosh is that uk food!?!?!!
yeah, the owner played the cop in mary poppins.
There's still one or two left in Ohio I think
>who even eats here
people who love Greece
My grandma used to eat there
In terms of fast food LJS is actually bretty good. Tough for me the biggest draw is their shrimp and chicken strips, not the fish.

McDonald's Filet-o-Fish or Burger King's Whaler Sandwich?
Me. Its delicious if you don't mind the resulting heartburn.

I used to take my step-daughter here and we both loved it. We both still do!

I can't. Everything tastes like that awful batter they put on. Legit sickening in taste.
Me. I like their fish. It’s a bit too salty though, I have to be sure to take my blood pressure meds

long john? is that double meaning?
yes it also means long penis
People who drink their sweet teas.
As far as fried fish joints go, it's pretty goddamn good. It's certainly better than this slop shop.
I wish we still had one in my area. Friend fish + hush puppies + tartar sauce + cole slaw can really lift the spirits when you're feeling like shit.
It's the only semi-national restaurant that has hush puppies, therefore it's based
