Spoon is versatile, fork is specialized.
I barely use forks, even shit like pasta and meat is fine with a spoon

I bet you drink beer from a soup bowl and call it fine too.

Impaling things on a spoon or twirling pasta with one can be quite difficult.

        No problem whatsoever.
Spoon holds it down to prevent slipping, cut, then pick up with tip of knife or simply shovel it with the spoon.
        Two options even.

They both have applicable uses. This is a stupid question. Do simple minded people ever get tired of thinking in black and white, which versus which, one above the other? I have never understood it. Is nuance impossible to grasp for most people?

The spoon and fork have different uses that are very obvious to understand. They fulfill different roles. There is a difference between comparing, say, two types of breads for their quality, a much more understandable conversation, and two tools which serve different purposes. There are things you can do with a fork that you cannot with a spoon, and vice versa. The question shouldn't even be asked in the first place. The answer is, they are not useful to be compared against eachother in that way because they do not have the same function. The same way comparing an anti-air missile versus a gun would be a useless concept, they have entirely different roles. You can do things with one that you cannot with the other despite the fact that they both fire ammunition at a target, as a spoon and fork are both used for cooking and eating. The key here is nuance. There is no superiority of one over the other. They are categorically different. You are the brainlet my friend.

The first utensils were probably knifespoons (sharpened rocks) and skewers (branches). Fork is an evil white man invention,

The fork is evocative of the pitchfork, of course. Commonly associated with the devil. In my God fearing household, we will not use forks. They are a temptation from satan like the apple of Eden

Spoon is the oldest most honorable utensil there is.
Spoon is modeled after hand being held concave when sipping water
Spoon was most valuable personal posession in middle ages, carried in small satchel with knife
Spoon was often given from father to son and from him to his son and so on.
Spoon can hold liquids. Can eat soup with spoon and pick up chunks you would use fork on. Can't eat soup with fork.
Spoon good and humble. Companion of man since his appearance.
    Spoon wins.

Fork is the first natural improvement on the spoon, made of metal
Fork represents a hand grasping outwards to progress and rib-eye steaks
Fork is not only used as a utensil, but for cooking over an open flame, spoon is now only used for heroin.
Fork is best for separating out the best parts of soup, the rest can be fed to pregnant women in the big spoon called a bowl.
Fork is carried as a personal item alongside knife, the spoon carries communal disease
Fork reaches out and brings it right to you. Fork is dutiful in its appearance and says I will get this to your mouth with no trouble SIR. Fork was willed into appearance for a new age
      Fork lol
