Once you start baking with proper dairy products from your nearest farm you can't go back, especially butter – It's a day and night difference when it comes to flavor and texture, compared with baked items made with shortening or vegetable oil.

      A few reasons.
      • better quality ingredients
      • food allergies or other dietary restrictions
      • making biscuits/cookies that aren't commonly sold in your area or simply don't exist because you dreamt them up
      • you're broke, but still want bikkies and can't justify the bakery's upcharge

Bet that sounded better in your head.

bake goods are barely any more expensive than their constitute components, if you attribue any value to your time than baking your own things isn't economical.

Tastes better, they're hot and fresh, and it fills the house with baking-cookies smell. Any other easy questions while you're at it?

cookies that are hot and fresh haven’t set properly, they will be gooey and fall apart with no chew or structure to them. it’s basically just eating molten dough. no thanks

That's the best part of cookies!

there needs to be enough chew to balance the goo which requires the cookie to cool down substantially

I agree. That's why you let them sit on the pan or on a rack for a few minutes. They're still warm but have set and the edges get a crisp to them while the middle is still soft and chewy and the chocolate chips are still melted.

Unless they're on sale because the store baked too many or they need to clear old stock you get more for your money baking them yourself. Flour, sugar, and eggs are pennies/oz so the markup for premade baked goods is insane.

You can steal cookies really easily if there's no cameras. Just don't let them catch your licence plate in hell, or else the cop cars with 666 will show up to your door and Satan will have some words with you. He's so funny, he will even send you to room number 111 in hell. It's not real in hell but my screams were.

You ever just... snap out of it and realize you have a brain disease and none of what you believe is felt or seen by anybody else?

Must be lonely, sitting in a stew of your own internal horrors. I bet you want to have a nice day every day, if you think about it. But maybe it's better to not think about it? Keep riding that thrill until it's all over.

I have mini semisweet chocolate and regular size white chocolate.
I'm tempted to add a bin of cocoa powder to my delivery to do double chocolate cookies

Sounds good to me. Sometimes when I make cookies, I'll make half the batch normal cookies and the other half double chocolate to have variety.

            I did add cocoa
I did what you mention last batch
I made molasses spice and added raisins to half.
still have like ten of each dough balls in the freezer.
I think this time I'll do double chocolate the whole way with semisweet morsels and the butterfinger pieces.
            I even got a bonus with today's delivery. 3 bananas I didn't order!

I cant deal with a store bought cookie anymore. No matter which type you go with, youre getting a bad product. The bakery stuff is typically better, but even still, they can taste a little one dimensional and are too sugary, and typically use margarine instead of butter. Not terrible but I would rather just make some nice ones at home

      >I only eat freshly baked warm chocolate chip cookies.
That's what I prefer. I don't like day old cookies so when I make cookies, I only bake a few and portion out the rest and put them in the refrigerator. That way I have fresh baked cookies until the dough is used up. The dough can be frozen, too.

    >Why bake cookies when you can easily get them from the store?
    I agree.
The time, effort and cost of making a couple of dozen of them, just isn't worth it.

I found the same with Bread.
I have made some fantastic bread but would I do it for everyday sandwiches for work? . . .No!
Takes too much time . . .diminishing returns, . .etc.
