why did no one tell me that the added benefit of eating balanced, home-cooked, well-prepared meals instead of overprocessed slop were bowel movements that literally clean themselves?
I’ve saved so much money and toilet paper ever since I started cooking it’s unreal

I’m definitely frustrated with the majoring of anons but I wouldn’t say I hate anyone. My personal gripes are more indicative of personal issues anyway

yeah but in all my lurking no one ever even mentioned it. I thought having imminently filthy and hard to clean stools was just a fact of life; I am utterly ecstatic at the moment for my discovery

It's all about that fiber; when you cook for yourself there's usually a lot more of it than you'll get in overprocessed slop. When I'm on the road and can't cook all my own meals I take the Metamucil and get similar results.

For me it's more about fat content and quantity of food. Overwhelm your bowels with more fat or food than it can handle in any given time period and you are setting yourself up for sloppy shits.

Just eat psyllium husk, then you can eat any processed garbage you want and your shits will still be that good

considering I feel better physically and mentally eating homecooked meals, I don’t think I’m gonna do that. I’m still tempted some days to break down and buy some Taco Bell but I remind myself I am no longer made for that world

Yeah but it's literally just the fiber making you feel good. You can have psyllium husk and taco bell and get the same effect. It encapsulates the carbs and makes them digest slower so you don't get poisoned by insulin

Please share your weekly meal plan, healthanon. I'm on the home cooking journey as well, usually default to broccoli and steak because I can't think of anything and looking at recipes online of simple meals gives me a lot of pasta or fried stuff.

I lost my notes that had all my meals laid out but from some notable recipes I remember from the top of my head:

      Chicken Stirfry over Fried Rice
      Salmon + quinoa and broccoli
      Israeli couscous with chicken thighs
Steak and potatoes + mushroom sauce and broccoli
Turkey tacos with pickled red onions and fresh bacon bits
Louisiana Chicken Pasta (Cheesecake Factory knockoff just use grilled chicken instead)
Spicy Tuna Rolls + Spam Masubi + bowl of Ramen

Surprisingly even the more processed stuff like the ramen won’t back me up anymore since most of the meal consists of home cooked rice and canned tuna. Picrel is my prep from a few weeks back of the Israeli couscous; looked and sounded funky but def tasted good. For breakfast I usually just eat eggs and bacon + some avocado and sometimes I’ll even make the eggs into McMuffins using some English muffins and a slice of cheese

here’s a shot at the McMuffins I referred to earlier
I’d normally “toast” the muffin by crisping them in the leftover bacon grease. Tasted great and cleaned up my pan nicely

Thank you man, all of those look good. I'd rather freeze than meal prep like that but I might try it as well, the idea of 4+ day old meals doesn't sit right with me but it might work better for some of your dishes.

I’ve also made Shepherd’s Pie in those prep containers. All that food besides the steak does good with freezing and I always freeze the night of; take one container out a day the day before and it’s perfectly defrosted by the time I need to eat. It’s objectively an inferior method to cooking fresh but it allows me to have homecooked meals at work which is where it matters

          HOW
I live alone and I’ll use a roll every 2-3 weeks
          >Anon that's well balanced but enough food for 3 people
It’s about 800 calories if I remember from my calorie logger so not exactly. It’s very filling though; I’d be full almost all day off it

I stopped eating McD et al., due to Israel. It has been 3 months and I literally feel 200% better every day. No more morning headaches, afternoon sugar crashes, runny shits. I can walk up stairs without pausing for breath. I can walk around the park without feeling faint. It's like that scene in Two Towers with Theoden when the curse was lifted.

Don't eat too much fiber or you'll get the comet turd where it's rock hard followed by a soft tail. Your anus doesn't like that.

i'm the type of dude who laughs at his own farts too so if you're ever in the restroom of an airport or a bar and hear ear-shattering farts and splashes followed by giggling, it's me
