    Because of the way the algorithm works, it's MUCH easier and safer for """content creators""" to just make videos on what's trending. It's extremely obvious when it comes to food, because suddenly one month it's shakshuka, the INCREDIBLE breakfast you MUST try! Then, spaghetti all assassina, and then aglio e olio and so on.

    There's only so many recipes out there, so once you've done your basics it's just algorithm chasing until you eventually realize being a cooking youtuber is a homosexual career and you put some actual effort into your real life. To be fair to them, everything on youtube has become a dystopian algorithmic game so finding real content is a fricking nightmare, but that's life.

      Honest to god. Not just the esoteric name, but the concept of the dish in question. The nearest adjacent pasta dishes I was aware of were carbonara on the fancier side and just putting olive oil on boiled pasta on the simpler side.

          On a spectrum. Carbonara isn't objectively fancy, but relative to garlic oil pasta its fancy, just like how garlic oil pasta is fancy compared to plain oil on pasta.
