Cap no longer spins freely so you have to actively twist the entire travel length instead of just flicking it 90% of the way. The hinge pulls the cap out of alignment so reseating it requires tension instead of conforming automatically. Pouring now requires you to align the previously rotationally symmetric bottle.

You must be confused. We're talking about the new bottles, with cap attached to the bottle neck and properties described in

. If none of that happens to you, you must be using the old design. If you have a stockpile, good for you, but that makes (you) an isolated case, not OP.

Made of more plastic than OP's image. Therefore less cost effective. Think like a corporation for a moment. They want to (look like they're trying to) reduce waste and improve recycling returns, but they also want to use as little money as possible.

    >Why the hate?
well skippy, let me tell ya.

see all throughout history no matter what it is or when it happens, when things change there is always ALWAYS a percentage of the population that shits themselves over whatever it is.

    invent vaccines - shit themselves
    discover vitamins - shit themselves
add iodine to salt - shit themselves
add fluoride to water - shit themselves
change how money looks - shit themselves
make pull tabs attached to aluminum cans - shit themselves
gamma irradiate food - shit themselves
require ID to vote - shit themselves
allow women to vote - shit themselves
attache bottle caps to bottle - shit themselves.

just pull the cap of you degenerates.

Because people who like to come to this site are adverse to unnecessary things that can be controlled in other ways.
Like, if people wouldn't litter. Why do people litter? Because of lack of education. Also, jaded hardened people who suck because they've been made a victim their entire lives (poor people, minorities)
But, of course, government and corporations (huge institutions that are capable of making "rules" for YOU to live by) just knee-jerk a "solution" like this one instead of addressing the problem directly and making everyone better for it.
    That's why.

Hold on, is this a new Coke bottle design?

      Anonymous

Yep. Tight neck ring that makes separating the cap a pain.

At least it doesn't slide gravitationally; there was a design for a brief period of time where the cap was attached firmly but the ring was loose enough it would turn and if you tried pouring into glass you'd pour right into the cap and everywhere. So the new one sucks but nowhere as badly as that brief experiment.

    >hard plastic that chips off microplastics

No thanks, If I'm going to drink soda I'll buy it in the 12 pack aluminum cans

      Anonymous

You do realize that cans are always lined with plastic on the inside, right?

        Anonymous

It's not pieces of hard plastic that can break off. What causes plastic to chip and break into chunks is when force is applied.

Like those little plastic hairs on a milk jug or orange container. Those are microplastics. Little strands of plastic that get into your body.

          Anonymous

microplastics aren't just pieces of plastic you moron. They're small enough to be inhaled, pass your blood-brain barrier, and proliferate through all your organs. Every time you heat something in a plastic bowl, drink water, wash clothes, or drive a car with tires you're creating new microplastics.

    >People throw away the bottle caps
No they don't, never has anyone thrown away a bottle cap, because you don want to have a bottle without a cap lying around in your bag or car or wherever.
This design was created by a hypothetical scenario the gay who created it dreamt.

I have started to go out of my way to tear this crap and throw away the bits of plastic in public squares and parks while keeping the cap. I want to see them come up with a design that will prevent the tearing of the connective piece.

it's annoying to put back on because you can't put it straight on - because the tab is pulling the screwcap to side and out of alignment
